I'm tempted to just buy the manga to see how this ends. Waiting another year will be hard. Just finished watching the OADs so I'm quickly running outta AoT material. And this makes me sad.

The Attack on Titan episode 88 release date is March 4 in Japan.

In truth, it's likely to air on March 3 in the US and UK at around 9:30 AM Central because of the likelihood of it being simulcast with the Japanese release.

How does Hulu still not have the dubbed versions of the last half of season 4?

I've basically been using my crunchyroll account to watch it. The dubbed is on there and it's very good. Eren's VA has been on a roll with the older/ villain Eren.

Final chapters part 1 major spoilers:
Ramzi's and Hange's scenes were a tough watch. I take it that Zeke's completely under Eren's control and basically a thrall? It surely looks like Eren is forcing Armin and Mikasa to kill him. So it sounds like a majority of the continent has been wiped out, but are there more continents? Is it just a Pangea supercontinent and Paradis island? I'm also guessing that people can't hide underground because of the colossals' steam and the fact that there is no food behind the Rumbling.

Lighter notes: One of the funniest comments I saw is the theory that Eren's is ending the world just to be wingman for Armin and Annie. Also Levi's ultimate goal in life is to kill Zeke, I'm fairly certain at this point.

Scene where they're jumping off the plane with "Splinter Wolf" soundtrack in the background - my goodness. What satisfaction. Reiner!

Thanks, it finally showed up around 7:30 for me.

Holy cow, what a finish! I hadn't read the manga before so I was mostly spoiler-free aside from having seen that Mikasa would be the one to kill Eren. It struck a good balance of giving the characters moments for them to cherish while staying true to the universe they've built ultimately being cynical in nature.

Yeah the credits made sure to stay cynical and to the point that so long as humanity exists there will be conflict. In a way I liked that message, it's something that every adult has to accept that there will always be more fighting. Meanwhile we can choose peace for ourselves. I really like it except the fact that half people ultimately responsible for starting it all, presumably live happily ever after(Reiner and Annie and the named titan families all somehow live). I guess I can accept it for they have to live to feel remorse for pushing their kids to facilitate genocide. In the end I guess Mikasa was the only one that screwed over.

Regardless I liked it! it's rare that an anime runs it's course before cancellation. Glad they stuck with this.

Just finished the show. My thoughts:

My original guess for how he'd end the show (I was not a manga reader) was that Eren would bear the sins of the world and lead his friends to kill him to exonerate Paradis from future retribution. I supposed I somewhat guessed right even though Isayama clearly made it evident that the conflict between humanity continued on.

What I didn't see coming was the private conversations he had with Armin or Mikasa where he lated wiped their memory of. Thought that was a cool way to bring it all together and explain the thought process. Real different side we got to see of grown up Eren in those conversations compared to the cold, calculating, genocidal maniac we saw all through Season 4. Must have been hell keeping all that inside.

Did anyone else think they did my boy Levi dirty? Dude is a War Hero and he's out giving lollilops while the rest of the crew get to be International Peace Leaders? Like bruh, seriously?? You going to have Pieck and Conny in the history books (no offense to either) but Levi is only handing out soup and baseball gloves with Yelena and Ollie (spelling). Did my boy dirty.....

Finally, was anyone else expecting Mikasa and Jean to end together? I guess, I kinda was, haha. Jean deserved to get a little something something at the end. Poor guy.

I think an important distinction is Eren didn't wipe Mikasa's memory. He asked her to forget about him and she repeatedly chooses not to.

Look closely at the end credits when people are visiting Eren. I created this album of screenshots real quick.

Spoiler album for my last sentence. Don't think you can post links in a spoiler tag.

Though to point out the Yeagerists control the island after the rumbling so Jean would not be welcome as he was a peace ambassador for the Rumbling Survivors. There's another theory that the man with Mikasa is Armin and that the family is his and Annie's. Which of course implies that Mikasa does not in fact remarry. I still think it looks like Jean but it's fun to speculate.

Well, I just binged about 3 seasons in 3 days to finish it out.

What an incredible series. I am an extremely casual anime watcher but this was some of the best story telling I ever seen.

"So long, Hange. Watch us" That one got to me a bit. That ending sequence with her and the other dead Scouts was beautiful in an odd f'ed up way.

Not often when something like this makes me ponder choices, humanity, mortality and other such deep things...

10/10.

Yes! Anyone who says anime is weird (plenty are, tbh) will have their expectations blown away if they just give this show a chance. It is so much more than just another anime. I'm not sure I'll ever see so many plot twists executed perfectly in one story again.

I've seen some videos discussing the ending and there is some stuff I don't recall from the source material. Anybody that has read the source, are there some additions/changes to the finale or am I just forgetting some stuff?

I plan on doing a complete run through once I catch up on some of my other stuff.

I'm almost done with season 4 and I'm blown away by this show. Just watched "From You, 2000 years ago" and it may be my favorite episode of the entire series. The only thing I haven't liked about season 4 is how they have tried to make you sympathetic to the Marleyans

To the Eldian Marleyans or to the entire Marleyan nation? Cause I do agree they do make you sympathetic to Reiner, Gabi, and Falco and company and maybe to the volunteers, but I never got the sense that they tried that with all of Marley. Of course, keep going to the end and things kinda change.

Don't forget my boy General Magath. I loved the Keith Shadis and General Magath team up. One taught kids to be soldiers and the other taught them to be warriors

I really should have gone back and just watched the whole series from the beginning.

I watched the show up until they left the island, then I had to wait, of course, until the next episodes came out. The time skip after that was super damn jarring and I could never quite get into the show the same after that.
