Colin Farrell as a country singer in Crazy Heart.

Mickey Rooney as the Chinese guy in Breakfast at Tiffany's

Rob Schneider as a Hawaiian in 50 first dates

Sylvester Stallone in Rhinestone.
Have to disagree. He actually sung some of those songs and can sing well.

It's an amazing album anchored by Jeff Bridges of all people.

DeNiro as Max Cady in the Cape Fear remake. RD's southern accent isn't believable throughout the film. As bad or worse than Diaz's Irish accent in GONY.

Both miscast and I think he's a terrible actor.
  • He's short, Harry is tall (granted, not possible to know at 10 yrs old)
  • His eyes are blue and Harry's are green.
  • He is just bad... like uncomfortable to watch level bad.

Compare his casting to Alan Rickman or Maggie Smith. I mean, you basically name the adult actor in that film, and I would say it was perfectly cast. I give them a pass on Dumbledore because their original actor was great, and he passed away.

They frankly did a terrible job with a lot of the adult actors regardless of how incredible a lot of them were. They should have all been about 20 years younger. Snape would have been early 30s in sorcerers stone

Jk Rowling specifically asked for Alan Rickman for Snape. Hard to say the role was miscast when the person who created the character chooses the actor!

These criticisms of Harry Potter movies casting coming out of the woodworks.

I think Ratcliffe was a good pick for Harry Potter, but Ratcliffe is just an annoying actor because of his mannerisms and acting abilities. He fit the part though, and looked like "Harry Potter". Hell he probably did a good job being a dopey idiot in his early years...

It's his facial expressions and voice when he's yelling that really grates on me, but a good fit for the part.

Malkovich was the perfect person to cast in Burn After Reading and In The Line of Fire.

Jimmy Stewart in Vertigo. It's still one of the greatest films of all time, but he was too old.

Same thing for Rear Window, but not as bad.

Uhtred of Bebbanburg from the books (supposed to be like 6'4 240 lbs blonde hair; large man)

Uhtred of Bebbanburg - Alexander Dreymon (5'10, 188 lbs, brown hair)

(Great actor for the part, just undersized / wrong features)

On the other hand, they nailed Finan:

Nic Cage was better.

Pretty sad when you get out-acted by Nic Cage.

Speaking of Willy Wonka, Timothee Chalamet was just cast as Wonka.

Could be disastrous, or could be brilliant. I feel like he might be great.

Same thing with "Braveheart" casting shorty Mel Gibson as William Wallace, who by all historical accounts was huge.

I mean, if we're nitpicking the historical accuracy of Braveheart, that's probably the last thing anyone should really be worried about.

Said Kevin Costner after producing Robin Hood

KC was an awful cast for this movie; everything else in that movie clicked. Except Kevin Costner as Robin Hood (even though I enjoyed him in the movie, just plain BAD casting) as well as Christian Slater as Will Scarlet

My unpopular opinion about Jack Reacher is that Tom Cruise is fine in those movies and I've read the books and know that Reacher is supposed to be huge. Part of my comfort with it is that those movies aren't getting made without a star attached to the role and I can't think of anyone with Reacher's real size who gets those made. Cruise did fine with every aspect other than being a foot short.

I watched the Reacher movies before reading any of the books so I had no preconceived expectations. I get he's not what the novels describe physically but I thought Cruise played the roll well. I'm not sure what tall physical actor exists who could have matched the book. Blond and 6'-5" actors with that physical build aren't exactly lying around.
