It will be interesting to see how they utilize Deb and John Lithgow's characters (whether in flashbacks or, more likely, in internal dislogues with Dexter as he processes his thoughts).

oh wow, that trailer looks great. telling us a ton more than the earlier teasers/trailers.
So it's Harrison who ends up killing him.
He sleeps all night and works all day
But on a more serious note this looks good!
So, I stopped watching after Trinity killed his wife.

Dexter dated a woman that killed people with poison. She knew the truth about him too. IIRC he was afraid of being caught so he let her leave to country with Harrison to raise as her own.

Kinda. She was dying in the hospital so he boated her out during a hurricane and he miraculously survived.
Anybody watched the 1st episode yet?
I watched the 1st one and thought it was very good. Still kind of feels like Dexter other than the different environment and Deb replacing the role of his Dad.

Just watched the first episode. Wife and I loved it!
Planning on watching soon. Praying it's good, as I'm one of many disgruntled longtime fans who hated the finale and all of season 8.
I really wanted to like it, but thought it was pretty bad. Matt was way over the top. The scene with the friend doing coke and just confessing everything out of the blue to a guy he doesn't even know was ridiculous. The scene with the CGI buck was really bad. And while the usage of imaginary Harry in the original series was solid, I really thought they overused imaginary Deb in this one.
But maybe it will get better. They had to set up an episode 1 kill. Maybe the longer play that can happen now will be better

Man that was awful. Dexter goes from dolphin to one who can talk to deer. Turns out he has a thing against killing animals. He did no research at all into who his victim was. He for some reason told Harrison who he was so now he is reliant on him keeping that secret. Deb is his voice of reason now? Ham fisted social issues…it was just dumb.

She was in it a decent amount. They are using her like they used dead Harry in the original series. It was not good.

Frankly, I think it's extremely obvious to see where this show will go. The only surprise is how it will end. A shame. I'll still watch just to see the wreck happen in agonizingly slow week to week fashion.

Just a smidgen of logic tells you for his own safety -- and theirs -- that he didn't maintain contact with them.
So ... what kind of sleuthing did Harrison do -- have access to -- that would lead him to Dexter's doorstep.

Hopefully they'll address that in the next episode otherwise it's a huge WTF.
