I pulled the plug on the original about 30 minutes in. Reminded me of growing up in Alief with all those idiots and rice burners. No regerts on my decision.

I believe he posted thst he did the identify theft thing, not that it was to get naked photos from underage girls. Which is why TC discussed the what vs why. The why is reprehensible.

Here's what I remember…

A year or two ago it was brought up in a random thread, on this board, that, at one point, Muck/Fat Bib impersonated an Aggie football player while at his job working for a local newspaper. Which I had assumed happened, like, 20 years ago. But I can't remember if someone else brought it up, and Muck/Fat Bib admitted it, or if Muck/Fat Bib brought it up himself. I *think* it was the latter, though, and that it was extending from a discussion we were all having in a thread here about F16 and how some of those guys were known to dox people. The basic gist, if I recall correctly, was that Muck/Fat Bib was saying that they had even doxed *him* at one point, in which they revealed an incident in his life that he seemed ashamed of, which was impersonating a player.

So I and others were aware of that aspect. It never really crossed my mind as to *why* he impersonated a player, though, and I guess I just assumed it was to gain access to something sports media related. I just thought it was some dumb thing he did in like his first job after college or whatever, and I never really thought twice about it.

That said, it was the *why* he did it that was revealed today, that's so terrible, and what is leaving so many of us conflicted. It also doesn't sound like something that happened 20 years ago, but rather a decade or so ago. I still believe in the forgiveness aspect, I'm sure he hates himself for what he did, and I maintain that I doubt he was secretly acting maliciously toward any of us these past few years. But we obviously can't be sure on any of those accounts, so yeah, regardless, it's probably best he remove himself from TexAgs, if he hasn't been removed already, and just get on with his life and his family outside of this site.

And to think after all of this time, I thought De'Vante Harris was the only A&M player that had his identity stolen by an individual. I still wonder how much gas money Fake De'Vante collected.

Wow... a lot to catch up on. My thoughts:

1. Your past is your past. I don't expect nor think TexAgs should determine whether someone can be part of the community based on things that happen outside of this forum. Someone serves their punishment for something, I have no ill will towards them. As a society, we could stand to be a little more forgiving and gracious.

2. If doxxing is happening, that should definitely be addressed by TexAgs and is not a good thing, for any reason. I have not seen anything in these several threads that confirmed anyone was doxxed, other than the accused poster.

3. Don't share personal info on the internet.

For the record, personally, I have zero issue with Muck/Fat Bib continuing to post here. Like you said, your past is your past, he seems like he's done whatever he needed to do to put that in the rearview, and he's always come across as a good-natured, fun-loving poster here. If anything, I love his insight and his jokes. So I didn't at all mean that he should be "cancelled" or whatever, and once again, I don't at all believe that he was phishing us. I simply meant that, for his sake, it's probably best he cool it, for at least a while, considering everything that's come to light today.

Same. It sounds like his daughters, along with the wreck he had a few years ago, greatly impacted him, ultimately for the better, and that he and his family all have a really good thing going now. I'd truly hate to see any of this affect that.

Honestly, his explanation of F16 trying to 'cancel' him over a few comments threw up some red flags IMO. I enjoy Bib's posts across the forums here and hope everything is behind him.

Not my board so I don't have much say, but this is where I am.
At some point, you can still respect the fact that really bad things happened and they shouldn't simply be overlooked or forgotten (I hope he made amends with the victims and is legitimately remorseful), and still accept that someone has paid their debt and judge them on how they are now. Simply shunning them and punting them to the next unsuspecting group isn't the answer, nor is essentially giving someone a life sentence for their crime the answer either. That doesn't help anyone. And in my experience he's been a good poster, and as I mentioned a sense of belonging can help people rehabilitate from all kinds of things. It gives a sense of support, self worth etc that might be hard to find in real life for some.
But that will be my last post on it. I personally hope he stays, assuming there is no doxxing going on. But respect whatever the mods do. Just sad all the way around.

Sometimes I wonder on average how many posters y'all could recall.

Like if you asked me to name usernames on TexAgs without looking I think I could pull five, maybe six from memory?

I feel compelled to say Fat Bib Fortuna is one of my favorite posters. Everything being written today is completely new to me. Not sure if it's true, but I do hope he has put any such mistakes far in his past.

I don't know what the right thing would be going forward, but I can say it would make me sad to not have him as part of our forum anymore.
