PEARL JAM Cancels Tour Dates After Bassist JEFF AMENT Tests Positive For COVID-19

I saw this headline and was pissed, but then thinking, wait denver show is 4 months away… canceling because of positive covid?

Then I read it, it's only 2 dates they are canceling.

Unbelievable. I remember back in March 2020 when the cancellations of events just became the most rapid domino effect ever and PJ was one of the first to scratch everything.

The OKC show was the only one I held onto out of about 10 concerts and still have in my TM account. I was in on the verified fan pre-sale for this upcoming Vegas and the tix were upwards of a thousand each just on the lower bowl sides so I passed on it. I then reflected on the days of Pearl Jam mid 90's when they stuck it to the man (TM) and wondered why they still use them when there are other alternatives (unless MGM Grand is contractually obligated to TM which I don't know).

Weird how they didn't cancel the shows Matt Cameron was out. PJ is my second favorite band of all time but Jeff is easily the weakest link in imo and easily replaceable for a couple of nights. Ridiculous this **** is still going on in May 2022.

I doubt it's anyone like that. Probably Wade Bowen or Randy Rogers since they live in town. Americana Jam is a great time. Haven't been in a while, but it's always a fun day.

Saw the Eagles in Austin last night on a whim. My first time to see them, wife saw them on the hell freezes over tour back in '94. Played mostly Eagles songs, with 4-5 Joe Walsh hits.

Was really good and enjoyed the show immensely. Vince Gill played and sang well in replacement of Glenn Frey, and Stuart Smith was great on the Don Felder lead parts.

Do The Eagles still wear their suits when they play? Saw them a few years ago and loved it.

Also, looking at the calendar, my next three shows are three days in a row, June 2, 3, and 4

Timothy B Schmidt wore suit pants and jacket, but no tie. All else were casual to varying degrees.

Robert Earl Keen last night at Will Rogers. I realized during the concert that I've seen him play more times that I can count and this would be the last. I may have sports cried a bit during his last song.

Great show! The crowd was strange though. They didn't know whether to treat it like a bar show or a theater show so it was a mixed bag of people standing, sitting, and talking during the performance. REK sat on a stool the whole time and told fun stories in between songs.

People talking during shows is annoying these days.

Stay home and gab like a teenage hangout if you want to talk. Shut up at the concert.

Yeah….the poor opening act playing acoustic guitar didn't stand a chance. The crowd talked throughout her whole performance so you could barely hear her.

I was going to attend the show in Waco in June but have decided on the one the day after at Whitewater in New Braunfels. That venue is great and should be a much better atmosphere since most of that place is standing area.

Glad you enjoyed it. What was the last song?

Was a little worrisome last night when REK started the set with "lets get through this", but he actually sounded really good.

Its an odd venue for REK it wasnt a bar but its not Bass Hall either so fans werent sure whether to sit or stand.

Also wont be his last Fort Worth show - he'll be back in August.

Grabbed a last minute cheap ticket for Daryl Hall today at ACL Live. Was up in the balcony but love how any seat has a good view at the venue. Show was great, although I would say Todd Rundgren was the best set of the night.

I was and it was a **** show. They came out played the first song and Conner couldn't make it through song two. They had a few people from the crowd come up and sing Bright Eyes "karaoke" which was dumb so we left.

Looks like White Oak is giving refunds but I would have rather have seen the show.

He couldn't make it through song two because he was trashed or just pissed off at something? I would've been at this show if it wasn't a Sunday night, glad we didn't now.

And yea, this looks terrible.

He looked rough for the brief time he was out there. They tried to go with "lover I don't have to love" for song 2 and he just sat there not singing with the audience looking at each other like what is going on.

I live walking distance so I wasn't too put out by being there but some people who traveled for the show were clearly not happy. First time I've experienced something like this so it was very odd all the way around.

I've never been to a quieter, calmer show than Ray Lamontagne back in about 2008 or so at Verizon wireless houston.

Happened to me at a 2010 Phosphorescent show: they played two songs, lead singer was hammered and launched himself into the drum set before stumbling backstage, then the venue lights come on and we're told the show is over. Went to the merch table asking WTF, they said IDK, here's some free merch. Just leaves you with the biggest blue balls ever when you're hyped for a show and it ends abruptly like that.

That's disappointing, i've been a huge Phosphorescent fan since 2007, finally saw them for the first time in 2019 and loved the show.

Had a buddy that was at the Dallas bright eyes show and said he was having a tough time singing all the words at that one too, he chalked it up more to drugs than alcohol, said it was great to start but by the end he would just miss entire verses almost

Was supposed to see Bleachers Saturday night… but Stubbs postponed the concert because of "severe weather". Concert was moved to Monday, but I couldn't make Monday. Got a refund… but pretty crappy they cancelled Saturday and I don't think it even started raining until midnight.

The show last night was great. They played 19 songs , 7 of which were from the new album. Vocals were great, but Curt's bass playing was so so good. He plays some really interesting lines considering they are a pop band. The female vocalist they have sounded great on 'Woman in Chains'. Their lead guitarist got bonus points for playing a butterscotch blonde tele.

Garbage was the opener, and they played for a full hour. Shirley dedicated one song to Andy Fletcher and they inserted a bit of 'Personal Jesus' into it. They finished with a song that had a bit of Fleetwood Mac in it. I'm not a huge fan, but they sounded alright.
