Show was awesome. Loved that "Garden" opener. Now I only wish there were some Texas dates to chase with so much material still to be heard.

Also, we walked by The Criterion in Bricktown and there was a line around the building for a band I've never heard of called I Prevail. One of the stranger looking crowds I've ever seen. Looked like a bunch of Juggalos. Just listened to their cover of Taylor Swift that apparently put them on the map and it's one of the worst things I've ever heard.

Can't wait to go back though and see Billy Strings at that venue on 10/15.

I saw that same line last night on my way to the concert and thought the same thing about the crowd mix. The PJ setlist was strong last night. Great show.

Watch this documentary. The amount of trash will blow your mind.

ETA: I linked the wrong one. Let me try to find the right one.

On a side note I drove from Dallas to Denver for the DVD filming of moe. at the Fillmore in 2005 and my buddy and I check into our hotel only to find out that Insane Clown Posse is apparently also in town playing close by.

So the hotel was half moe.rons and half Juggalos. I don't think I've ever been around a more polar opposite group of people in my life.

I had no idea that he is doing a tour that has lasted almost 10 years now, playing monthly at MSG, and other countries/cities sprinkled in between, totaling to just a few a month.
That's crazy. Imagine living in NYC and being a die hard Billy fan. You could have seen him 80+ times since 2014.. once every month.

Yeah, I heard he said he would keep playing MSG until it stopped selling out. Still going strong apparently.

It'll be a great show, but I'm admittedly a little biased.

Saw him last in April in Charlotte and am praying to find a way to get to an MSG show at some point in time.

I didn't realize he hasn't put out new music since 1993s river of dreams (other than what looks like some piano classical album in 2001)

Damn.. 12 albums in 22 years, and then 20-30 years later, can still play around the world and fill up MSG for 80+ consecutive months.

    That's hella impressive.

I mean, Elton could do it too, but Elton also never stopped putting out music after his prime (and 2nd and third prime lol).
BJ just said F-it.. I'm a legacy act, a highly successful one, and will always be one, so I don't need to write anything else.

EJ had 23 albums from 69-92 (and 8 since)
BJ had 12 albums from 71-93, roughly the same time period.

    Interesting comparison.
I grew knowing both of their music pretty well, with parents and older brother being huge fans.

While the song is way down the list of greatest Billy Joel songs, there is something uniquely special about a stadium full of people singing along to Piano Man.

I absolutely love crowd sing along songs. They're even more special when the entire stadium knows every word of the song and not just the chorus.

Man I'm torn on whether or not to go to Pearl Jam.

I bought the tickets third party back in March of 2020, so it's been a while, and that money is sunken at this point. I could probably sell for $1000 (front row club level) and profit a few hundred bucks.

Reality is, I like Ten front to back, then for vs and vitalogy, I like the singles, and that's where it ends with me.

Looking at setlists, it's of course all over the place.. back in may they had cameron out from covid, and had Krusen sit in one night, and played nearly all of Ten; that would have been a dream setlist.

The most recent 6-7 shows they play anywhere from 3-4 songs off ten, then maybe another single off vs/vitalogy, so it's a lot of money to see 6-7 songs.

Though the other night at MSG, they played 10 songs off the first two albums, plus chloe dancer/crown of thorns. I would be elated to get a setlist like that and wouldn't even question going.

As much as I respect artists like them that change it up every night.. and I mean completely different sets, it sure doesn't help a fan like myself who only knows/likes a third of their catalog.
I really wish I could find out what they are playing!

I've never seen them. My wife was a die hard fan in when they burst on the scene and met them and saw them in 93/94 or so, but hasn't seen them since as her fandom depth is just like mine.. it stops at vitalogy.

Their US album sales, in album order, are 13x plat, 7x plat, 5x plat, plat, plat, then gold for most recent 6, so clearly a lot of fans are just like me. It's a wonder they don't consistently put a lot more of their classic stuff in shows.

To compare, I've seen Alice in chains about 10 times since 2007ish, and every show is 75% '90-'95 hits, with a few of whatever is new sprinkled in. They seem to get it.
I went to the LA Night 1 and MSG shows. I'm going to the OKC and Denver shows next week. You will not regret going to see them live. Every concert of theirs I have been to has been a unique experience. The energy from the crowd is unexplainable until you've experienced it yourself. They typically put on really good shows in Oklahoma and the Denver show is the last of the 2022 tour. I expect both of these shows to be beyond my expectations. Again, I highly recommend you keeping the tickets and attending the show.

We'll, as my luck would have it, of every set list I looked up of theirs on this tour, my show least represented Ten.

TWO f-in songs from ten. Two. Meh.

They almost made it up with Chloe dancer/crown of thorns. It did for the wifey anyway, she loved Apple front to back so she was all over that and it was unexpected.
But man, insult to injury, they throw in spin the black circle and rearview mirror as 2 of the early album songs. I almost forgot about those 'hits'. Black circle is just not my cup of tea.

No black, Jeremy, porch, dissident, daughter, go, why go, animal, oceans, garden, once, release, immortality
So many good songs left off that were sprinkled all over the last 10 shows.

Oh well. I do really like just breathe, and it was a tour debut in Denver. Also, Ledbetter is probably a top 3 for me, and they snuck that in, hasn't been played at many shows. (I think just 2 out decent 11 show run)

    Long Road
Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town
    Thin Air
    Just Breathe
    Present Tense
    Interstellar Overdrive (Pink Floyd cover
    Corduroy
    Spin the Black Circle
Throw Your Hatred Down(Neil Young cover)
    Given to Fly
    Who Ever Said
    Even Flow
    Dance of the Clairvoyants
    River Cross
    Save You
    Better Man
    Last Kiss(Wayne Cochran cover)
    Faithfull
    Lukin
    Rearviewmirror

    Encore:
I Won't Back Down (Tom Petty cover)
Chloe Dancer (Mother Love Bone cover)
Crown of Thorns (Mother Love Bone cover)
    Alive
    Baba O'Riley (The Who cover)
    Yellow Ledbetter

Side note - Lukin? Had to look it up cause I remember when they played it. Man, sorry PJ fans., but that is crap.

Also, I wish McCready would play some sort of resemblance of album solos. Even flow? It was a bunch of noise. Playing guitar behind his head, and it didn't sound good at all. I'm a guitar player of 30 years, and very much appreciate his solos on the record. I know Alive solo note for note. Not one of those was played tonight.

I digress. I've been to 200+ concerts and am a fan of live music at the end of the day.

    I was asking wheatables02

I started this conversation off that I like ten, and the radio songs from vs/vitalogy. I have plenty reason to complain a bit since they only played about 5 songs from that group, and literally every other setlist from this tour had min. 4 songs from ten, several times 5 or 6, in addition to 2/3 from vs and vitalogy each.

I find it frustrating that a band would largely ignore the 1 album that sold more than all the others combined, but only for one show on the tour.. and the last one at that.

Oh well. I do really like just breathe, and it was a tour debut in Denver. Also, Ledbetter is probably a top 3 for me, and they snuck that in, hasn't been played at many shows. (I think just 2 out decent 11 show run)

    Long Road
Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town
    Thin Air
    Just Breathe
    Present Tense
    Interstellar Overdrive (Pink Floyd cover
    Corduroy
    Spin the Black Circle
Throw Your Hatred Down(Neil Young cover)
    Given to Fly
    Who Ever Said
    Even Flow
    Dance of the Clairvoyants
    River Cross
    Save You
    Better Man
    Last Kiss(Wayne Cochran cover)
    Faithfull
    Lukin
    Rearviewmirror

    Encore:
I Won't Back Down (Tom Petty cover)
Chloe Dancer (Mother Love Bone cover)
Crown of Thorns (Mother Love Bone cover)
    Alive
    Baba O'Riley (The Who cover)
    Yellow Ledbetter

Side note - Lukin? Had to look it up cause I remember when they played it. Man, sorry PJ fans., but that is crap.

Also, I wish McCready would play some sort of resemblance of album solos. Even flow? It was a bunch of noise. Playing guitar behind his head, and it didn't sound good at all. I'm a guitar player of 30 years, and very much appreciate his solos on the record. I know Alive solo note for note. Not one of those was played tonight.

I digress. I've been to 200+ concerts and am a fan of live music at the end of the day.
Man, I was hoping they'd play Just Breathe in OKC. That was one of my wife and I's wedding songs.
He actually told a story before it that he was in nature somewhere a few weeks ago with friends and family, and someone proposed to their gf..
I wasn't sure if he knew this person, or just witnessed it, or whatever.

Anyway he said those two people were there that night and he dedicated it to them. He [jokingly] said they're still together, so it must be working out lol.

Technically not until 2023, but damn this is sad. I went to my first (and only) Dead & Company show last fall at The Woodlands since I'm a big Mayer fan. Since then I've gone full down the rabbit hole and legitimately 40-50% of my music listening has been Dead. I've now got seven Grateful Dead vinyls and have listened to probably 30-40% of the 189 shows that Dead and Company have on nugs. Right now I'm working through their 2016 tour.

Hopefully I'll get to see a show on the farewell tour.

Good friend of mine is there. Said he saw a bunch of Arkansas football players at the show. Hope it runs late and they miss curfew.

I'm not even a big fan of PJ but I think that's a kick a$$ setlist.
Curious, what do you like about it? All the covers? The album spread? The lack of songs off their best selling album?
    Quote:

We'll, as my luck would have it, of every set list I looked up of theirs on this tour, my show least represented Ten.

TWO f-in songs from ten. Two. Meh.

They almost made it up with Chloe dancer/crown of thorns. It did for the wifey anyway, she loved Apple front to back so she was all over that and it was unexpected.
But man, insult to injury, they throw in spin the black circle and rearview mirror as 2 of the early album songs. I almost forgot about those 'hits'. Black circle is just not my cup of tea.

Again, I've never seen PJ and I've listened to PJ Radio on SiriusXM on an off at times over the last 5 years.

I bought Ten when it was new but always liked Nirvana more. I bought VS. then never bought another album however I know enough from PJ Radio and friends to understand that they are very much like DMB in concert....meaning that you hardly get the same setlists from night to night. You get covers and you get rarities.

I get that you want a greatest hits show sometime but their work is so vast that its never going to happen.

I don't even recognize some song names on your list but if I got Elderly Woman, Just Breathe, Corduroy, Black Circle, Fly, Even flow, Better Man, LAST Kiss, and Rearview Mirror - that would be a banger just by itself.

Now throw in Tom Petty's greatesdt hit, two Mother Love Bone Songs, Alive, Baba!, and Yellow...I'd be totally content for my first show.
