Jeeeez. That police scene was so sad. I kinda like how they left it off. Gonna be a lot to cover next season.

Genuinely curious what you think they have to cover next season? Not trying to call you out or anything, I just can't fathom what else there is to do besides send Fez to jail, where he'd basically have to be on a different show to make any sense of seeing his story progress from here. Unless Rue visits him in jail or something, but then we're basically talking a cameo at best. Honestly, I would have rather his character died, and have his death mean/affect something, than have him have to watch Ash go out like that, and then end up arrested. It's just so unsatisfying, and ultimately had no real effect on the greater plot. I still can't understand how Levinson didn't have the whole Rue/Fez/Lauri thing come back around, and actually have those set-ups pay off in organic fashion. It was all right there for the taking.
Yeah, after sleeping on it, I'm definitely concerned about how they'll fill the season up. There's obviously the Rue drug dealer arc that hasn't been touched yet, and I feel like that has to come back up. I assumed Fez would play into that, so idk if they'll find a way to keep him in the plot or not. I feel like they would have just killed him off if that wasn't the plan.

They spent a a decent amount of this season doing focused episodes on different characters. I'm guessing they do more of that since we haven't seen much from Jules in the last 3 episodes.

I can think of plenty of things they would cover again as filler, but none of it really feels meaningful to the plot at this point besides the Rue drug dealer thing. Nate's dad is in jail. His story feels over. Fez and Ash basically gone. The Cassie and Maddie drama seemed to kind of settle at the end. Nothing was really left truly hanging besides Fez and just pure speculation on what happens with Rue and the drug lady.

I enjoyed that episode, but I feel the same way as you guys now on the plot.

SPOILERS for the season/last episode

Things for them to cover in Season 3:

  • Rue's deal with Laurie
  • Rue's long-term outlook with her addiction (does she go to therapy finally in addition to NA?). I honestly see Rue dying before the series is over. Just seems like one of those types of shows
  • Fez potentially let off if it is all pinned on Ash?
  • Endgame for Nate (does he "get his" eventually?)
  • Potential follow-up with Cal, although I can't see that being anything other than a trial which doesn't really fit a final season (if season 3 is the last)
  • Potential minor storylines for any number of characters: Lexi, Cassie, Maddy (finally hooks up with Minka Kelly?), Kat, Gia, Ethan, etc.

That's basically exactly what I thought of, as well. They're gonna have to make the thing with Laurie a pretty big deal, imo.

Yeah, Faye is a witness and without Ash to protect, that should get Fez out. As far as the rest of the cast, creating new drama isn't exactly difficult

Re: the Laurie of it all, Rue already said in her final voice over that she finished the rest of the school year/semester sober, heavily implying no drama for at least the next two to three months, and indicating that next season won't pick up before then either. So I would have a real hard time believing that Laurie waits 'til summer, all those months later, to show up again/send her goons, demanding her money or trying to kidnap Rue. Levinson missed that window. IMO, that story is (stupidly) over, given the context clues.

That's going to be extremely disappointing if they drop that story line after having that sit down between Laurie and Rue end with the threat from Laurie. That seemed like such a clear indicator that Rue can't just get out of ****ing that up.

Agreed. One of the many reasons it's so frustrating Levinson ended the season the way he did.

Just finished the season finale. Honestly, I was bored through most of it. Cassie is the least interesting character on this show and I'm tired of all the attention her story has received. What the hell happened to Kat? I hope season 3 corrects and gets back to some of the more interesting story lines.

The actress who plays Kat reportedly had "creative issues" with her planned arc for season two, so Levinson was essentially forced to diminished her role significantly, as it was too late in the process to come up with something new. My guess is that's why Cassie/Nate got so much more attention, to basically fill that gap with an expanded version of what was already planned for them. That said, why Jules role wasn't expanded as well - a character who was basically billed as the second lead, but was hardly in the second half of the season - is beyond me.

Overall, it sounds like behind-the-scenes drama, combined with Levinson's general unpreparedness (which a handful of cast have noted), are what led to much of the season's unevenness.

I hope Fez is around next season. He's the most "normal" person in the show. The rest of the characters are psychos…

It's this generation's 90210/The OC/Gossip Girl. Fitting that it's also the first one of those on cable.

Like i said, ****ed up. They are faux butt****ing and jizzing all over each other in a school play. Even of it was on cable, I don't think dylan is ramming brandon and then flinging fake semen all over brenda and david silver in a school play. Then little Joey takes one in the head from a swat team

Wanted to give a brief summary of my introduction to Euphoria

The last several months it's been all over social - I knew a few things about it, and my very real gf has mentioned it, so we decided to watch S1 again so she could get a refresher...

Quote:

Fez's grandmother was always a badass...
We get about halfway through the show - and she doesn't remember ANY of this. I start seeing the NY Eve glances between Nate and Fez - and I'm like "Ohh yea- he wants to suck that dude's diiiiiiickk"

Few minutes later, Nate is lying in a pool of his own blood with his face partially detached. 'Oh - I was way off there...'

Yep - we watched S2E1 rather than S1E1. So I got to treat S1 like an entire "flashback". Was entertaining to see all the buildup that lead into S2E1.

Finally wrapped up all of S1 last night

I watched the first couple of episodes of season one when they initially aired and couldn't get into the show. A few weeks ago we picked it up again, because there was nothing else of interest for us to watch. I enjoyed season two, but I'm not sure where we go from here.

I assume that the mentions of Laurie when the cops were outside of Fez's house can be used to explain why she didn't come after Rue. The Cassie / Maddie / Nate story line isn't that interesting, the Lexi / Fez story will be hard to continue with Fez in prison, and Jules is almost too normal to carry a season.

Angus Cloud passed away. Crazy.

Based on the article I read, likely to be suicide. They said cause of death was not disclosed but gave the number for suicide prevention. His dad died last week.

I had to Google his name. That's really too bad. Fez was probably the best character in this show.

So sad. I thought he was a young talent that could really have an interesting career.

The families statement:

"It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways," said his family in the statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

Damn that's awful, especially for the family to lose two people in such a short period.

Fez may have been my favorite character on the show. Not going to be the same without him.
