Yeah they used TONS of stuff. Dunham and Miller, random drops, "the anus", the Gordon Keith reference… That became a fun Easter egg hunt each week to see if that guy had included anything new during the episode.

Yeah. I agree with this. But what makes it good is the backstory and how he ended up vs how his buddy Boyd ended up and how that relationship interacts. We ALL have a good friend that ended up in trouble with the law and even though I'm a law abiding person, I'd still turn a blind eye for him. It's that struggle that makes the whole show jive.

I don't know how to get a new Boyd crowder though. That guy was nails. Absolutely nails.

What's nuts is that the Boyd character wasn't supposed to have nearly as long of an arc (maybe just S1) but he was so well received and they loved Goggins so much that they kept him around much longer.

That's bad ass. I love a story like that. Some of the best actors in the world started off like that "just supposed to be here real quick like" to "oh damn, he's good".

I've watched all of the Justified seasons and convinced my wife to give it a shot. She loves the show and has been powering through every night to catch up for the new season. Looking forward to it!

True, but I did notice one thing different. In the scene where he talks the guy in the basement to giving up, in the series he would have been the one to both do the talking AND kick the door into the guy's head. Remember when he first met Dewey Crowe? I hope this isn't a kinder, gentler Raylan.

I just figured he was more in a "ride along capacity" and also not on his own turf. He certainly isn't afraid to offer the trunk option to perps lol.

I only watched the first episode, but really enjoyed it. It was good to have the US Marshall back. Looking forward to the season.

My one complaint was how he was initially roped into the storyline. Those guys just happen to ram into a US Marshall? And that happens to get him connected to the attorney/judge/bad guys?

Seemed a little to easy/convenient...very Taylor Sheridan-like

Finished episode 1 and enjoyed it for what it was. Glad to have Givens back with his one liners. Only small nitpick was the daughter. I know that's Olyphant's real daughter but her voice sounds like she's 5 years old. Maybe it's just me.

Season 4 is not connected to this series, so there is no crossover. You should still finish season 4 though at some point.
