I gave it three episodes, I'm out. I loved the original series, this has none of the charm and certainly not the same quality of dialogue. Massive disappointment.

It would be weird to sing about the deep dark hills of eastern Detroit.

Very first scene when the guys tried to carjack him he did.
I realize that Ava (from the original series) had a little junk in the trunk but she was still pretty hot. This series love interest, like you said, has no chemistry not to mention her middle sticks out past her top, significantly. Just don't see it. I feel the same as you on the characters, Raylan is almost a shadow of his normal character. I do like Wendell (Deke from King of Queens) but that may be because I liked him in KoQ. I like the Maureen character well enough but you just don't get to see very much of her. I'm sticking with because I am already in but it has been fairly disappointing for me thus far. Sadly, the best storyline on the show is between Jamal and Raylan.GreasenUSA said:
I am so glad I didn't go ahead and watch the original series before starting City Primeval. That would have been a huge letdown, because this is one of the most boring shows I have ever seen. I don't feel invested in any of the characters, and Raylan feels just like a guest on this show. The romance this week had no chemistry and was really forced. Last week's episode was a slight uptick, but this week's was probably the worst of the season.
Looking forward to watching the original series at some point in the future.

Interesting that Rotten Tomato gives it a 92% but Audience score of 57%. Not sure what the Tomatometer is seeing.
Keanu Reeves isn't too old yet. Why not Justified: John Wick 5?Smeghead4761 said:
What I would love to see (after watching The Fugitive with my kids Friday night) is Raylan teamed up with Sam Gerard. Sadly, Tommy Lee Jones is way to old to reprise that role.
