Caught up to the latest episode. Oddly, as excited as I was for the series when it was announced and the first couple of episodes I kind of just want it to be finished now. I just don't know how they're going to adequately resolve everything.

Right! If they were going to bring back the original Justified characters anyways, they should've just made another season of Justified. That's what everyone wanted to see. The last 10 minutes were more interesting than the other 99% of the season.
I think he "was" committed to justice until the Detroit fiasco. Now, he realizes that if he would have done the same with boyd he'd be spending more time with his daughter...jeffk said:
So did he retire because of the "un-justified" shooting or to spend more time with his daughter?
Great cameos there at the end but yeah, Raylan felt very shoehorned into a story about a different person. Enjoyed it, but it definitely didn't capture the magic of the original series.
I don't think there was a buy-in to do a straight "Justified" sequel. I think there had been various efforts to do "City Primeval" over the years, and grafting in Raylan Givens was what allowed the studio execs to finally sign off on it.ExpressAg11 said:

I can see the writers, actors, etc. being concerned about not being able to do justice to a full blown reboot, considering how well done the original was. But I can't believe the studio concern was a perceived lack of fan interest in a reboot and that they thought this would get a better reception. My guess is the only reason most people had any interest in City Primeval at all is because it was the closest thing to a Justified reboot that they thought they'd ever get.torrid said:I don't think there was a buy-in to do a straight "Justified" sequel. And despite my opinion of re-opening the wonderfully concluded "we dug coal together" storyline, tacking on the 15-minute Boyd sequence was pretty much a freebie. They can use the fan reaction to see if a true series reboot is…justified.
I read that Walton Goggins was actually in the middle of another project, but they managed to squeeze in his scenes over just a couple of days.
Amen my man.BrazosDog02 said:
F- Al the haters. Boyd's back. I'm f-in in. All in. Ill go with it.
Amen. Wow, that was just an abomination of a show and a finale (except the last 15 minutes).billyjack2009 said:
The last 15 minutes were the only redeemable part of the whole f'ing thing!
Could have swallowed all of it other than the g/f lawyer. Overweight and not attractive. It was so bad, and it was a distraction.Prosperdick said:Amen. Wow, that was just an abomination of a show and a finale (except the last 15 minutes).billyjack2009 said:

I just want to know what were the "good" parts of Primeval that they salvaged. The Albanians? God I hope not as that was a total s**tshow at the end. Oh lets give the f-up Skender, who is on crutches, a weapon to get his "honor" back.
Then when Mansell comes back for his shooting spree, the same stupid Albanian actually felt for his gun that he already had leant to Skender. They saw him on the monitor at least 30 seconds before he made it up to them, they EASILY could have ambushed him.
Such lazy, stupid writing.
Oh and the ugly, frumpy lawyer nobody liked became a judge....wonderful.
