Not really, a little corny maybe.

I'm going to have to check out Just Friends. I have no memory of that ever being in theaters and can't think of anyone outside of Texags ever even taking about it.

From a critical perspective it probably isn't a good movie but it is one of the most quotable movies I've ever seen. Don't take it too seriously just sit back, relax, and take in the fun.

My wife and I sat this to one another four or five times a week during the holidays.

White Christmas (My mom first shared it with me and it always makes me feel like she's with me when I watch it)
It's a Wonderful Life (Our annual Christmas Eve viewing tradition after church)
Family Man (One of Nicholas Cage's more normal roles)
The Holiday (Who would have ever thought of Kate Winslet & Jack Black as a couple, but it works!)

Bonus Choices:
Four Christmases (Wasn't a very successful movie, but I enjoy it)
Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer (Childhood Nostalgia... though not really a movie)
Love Actually (A very British movie for a change of pace)

That scene where they are talking to to principal kills me every time.

Neil: Scott, what was the last thing you and Charlie did before you went to bed Christmas Eve?

Scott : We shared a bowl of sugar, did some shots of brown liquor, played with my shotguns, field-dressed a cat, looked for women…I read him a book!

Neil: What book?

Scott : Uh, Hollywood Wives…the Night Before Christmas, folks, come on!

It looks like TexAgs really tends to lean on the Die Hard, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation side of things. I love watching Die Hard on Christmas Eve.

It's also crazy how connected Home Alone and Christmas Vacation are. The same writer and the director having originally going to do Christmas Vacation but left that project due to issues with Chevy.

Both taking place in Chicago, maybe even in the same suburb.

One random connection between Home Alone and Ernest Saves Christmas -- the old lady that Kevin's mom barters with for their plane tickets is the sweet old lady that works at the children's museum in Ernest.

And one interesting observation for me is how a bunch of my favorite Christmas movies came out in quick succession.

1988 - Ernest Saves Christmas (and Die Hard if you're one of those who thinks it's a Christmas movie)
1989 - Christmas Vacation
1990 - Home Alone
1992 - Home Alone 2

The ones I definitely like to watch every year. Also, I love the Netflix The movies that Made Us episode on Home Alone. So crazy how they thought about John Williams as a joke, and then he actually agreed to do it. John Williams' score for that movie is absolutely epic.

We rewatched the Home Alone with episode of Movies That Made Us after we finished the movie. Enjoy it even more knowing the backstory.

Things like Christmas Vacation or Elf are enjoyable the first few times, but I can't watch them anymore.
the beauty is finding /hearing something new every time.
I've se Xmas Vacay say 20 times.

Last week we watch it, and the part where Clark brings his boss a present and Boss says 'put it over there with the others'.
I noticed for the first time that Clark's present and all the others on the table are all the exact, but unique, shape.

That's why you watch movies like this multiple times.

It's neither.

The movie is Christmas-adjacent.

Ask yourself this. You're working at Blockbuster in the 90s and are in charge of stocking the movies. There's the following sections: action, comedy, drama, horror, and holiday.

Where do you put Die Hard?

Another terrible argument. This thread's aforementioned other Christmas movies can extend into many different categories.
