Our neighbors were over and couldn't believe wife and I had never seen elf. So we put it on while they were here.

Not 20 minutes in, wife and I had totally lost interest, and neighbors seemed to as well lol, and it was changed.

I didn't get anything close to a chuckle. Clearly not my style.

Farrell doesn't do it for us at all, except for old school. Same neighbors tried to get us to watch anchorman as well a few months back, same story. Couldn't make it 20 minutes.

I'd say yes, but it does seem like it just might not be your thing. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not going to defend it as some transcendent cinema. It's silly and ridiculous and leans into that pretty hard.

Yeh I'd probably agree with that. I just couldn't make it that far.

I finally watched It's a Wonderful Life last weekend.

Really enjoyed it. Don't know how you get through that ending without tearing up.

Btw I plan to always follow up the movie with this sketch going forward.

I went through this whole thread and didn't see The Ref mentioned once. That is a crime. That and Christmas Vacation are the 2 Christmas movies we HAVE To watch every year.
