I just wish these guys would wait until A.I. is a little further along before using it in their videos. I noticed two or three sh*tty A.I. shots in the Jesse Michels video I posted yesterday, but it's all over this Why Files episode, and it looks like absolute dogsh*t, to the point of constant distraction. Just wait a year, if not a few months, and the software will be so much better. Otherwise, these videos are going to look so incredibly dated in no time.

I think if enough whistleblowers come forward, together, who can each verify their legitimacy/positions beyond a shadow of a doubt, and between them release corroborating video, imagery, and paperwork, there really wouldn't be much of a question. Granted, yes, no matter what there will be those who doubt them, but most people aren't going to believe that a group of highly credible individuals, with verifiable military/government positions/ties, whose reputations are on the line, etc, would engage in an easy-to-debunk stunt of creating some AI videos/images for 15 minutes of fame. Especially after a massive hearing, where they're able to provide additional context, answer questions, prove their bonafides, etc.

That said, I do agree the sooner the better. I still don't think AI is "there" yet, especially when it comes to video (even Sora), but in a couple of years it likely will be.

However, in the end, for EVERYONE to be convinced, yes, it's going to take actual, physical evidence. I just think whistleblowers + video/imagery is a crucial step to eventually getting that physical evidence.

How long has it been since word of all the other whistleblowers coming out made the rounds?

I don't know the exact moment, but at various points during the second half of last year, the same people who said summer 2023 was going to be big, before Grusch ever came forward and the Schumer bill was revealed (both of which happened in June), said that 2024 is going to see more whistleblowers.

That said, no one has given an exact timeline because it's always fluctuating. These people have said from the beginning that the other whistleblowers wanted to first see how Grusch would to be treated, and Grusch has said he essentially volunteered to be their canary in the coal mine. Given the smear campaign that then followed Grusch stepping forward, and the threats made against him, it sounds like some whistleblowers got cold feet. But then when the Schumer bill was gutted late last year, that pissed off a lot of people off, apparently reinvigorating those same whistleblowers. Other whistleblowers never wavered, and either way, whatever the plan is to come forward, it's still in motion/being strategized.

So, again, we're just in a wait-and-see mode.

Maybe it happens this year, maybe it doesn't. Maybe they've all decide to wait until after the election. Or maybe they decide to come forward before, in attempts to try and force it as an election issue. I have no idea.

Hopefully, Mike will be one of those in the next hearing.

I ended up giving this a shot (went straight to the documentary, haven't yet listened to the podcast), and while it starts out suuuper slow, is kind of aimless, and way out there overall (seriously, if you have any kind of aversion to the "woo" don't even bother), I ended up really liking it overall. Again, I do wish it was a bit more organized - it kind of skips all over the place and desperately needed a better editor to streamline/organize the whole thing - but the stories and ideas themselves are intriguing for sure.

I especially liked the scientist guy in the hat (I forgot his exact field) and his explanation/outlook on everything, to the point where I want to read more by him.

Also, if anything, that brief "Predator"-like footage is pretty insane. It's of course blurry and handheld as usual, but looked legit and not like any kind of effect or glitch.

Oh, and the whole thing is beautifully shot too.

It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if at all interested I found it for $4.99 on Vimeo, though it seems like it might release on other platforms later this year? (In addition to an editor, they could definitely use some basic marketing clarity/context as well.)
