It seems like a lot of posters on this thread are like, "It was pretty alright! I mean, I wasn't expecting much, and this part sucked, and that part made no sense, and I didn't like those characters, but other than it kinda sucking, I thought it was pretty alright!"

I hate this movie so hard it makes me angry. It's not just the worst Indiana Jones movie, but one of the all time worst blockbuster movies.

This movie sucks so bad, and y'all should be ashamed of yourselves for pretending like it doesn't suck as bad as it really does…

It takes a sad person to get this upset over a movie. I hope you're trolling.

Pretty sure he's a troll based on some of his other posts I've seen.

It's 50/50 at this point. 50% upset at the movie, 50% upset AT Y'ALL for pretending this movie doesn't suck.

I'm just as angry at y'all as I am at this train wreck of a movie…

This is how my wife felt about the Phantom Menace.

Summer of 99, we were engaged, and I took her with me. Days prior of me going off about how awesome and amazing the OT was and how this was going to be the most epic cinematic experience in forever, blah, blah, blah.

Then it just sucked. And it took me a couple weeks to finally just admit to her it was stupid. I even told her some bullsh** about having to go in to the office and caught a matinee by myself to see it again and I hated it even more.

But yeah. She hated it and then was even madder I wouldn't admit it was terrible.

Dial of Destiny is Godfather II compared to Phantom Menace.

Nah, it's just another straw on the camel's back. People saying 2+2=5 is the new normal, and I'm just not used to it yet: "Men can be women and women can be men", "time for me to get another Covid booster shot", "Have you seen the new Indiana Jones movie? It's a good movie."

It's gonna take some time for me, guys. I'm just not yet ready to commit to lying to myself on a daily basis. Please, just be patient with me…

And you just go wallow in misery over how "bad" this movie is.

You do realize that everyone here, yourself included, is expressing an opinion? No one opinion is any more valid than any other.

I am certain that I could sit down with you to discuss movies, and you could give me a list of titles that you think are great that I would think are steaming piles of crap, and vice versa. But I wouldn't continue to beat you in the head for your "terrible" taste in movies thinking I would get you to see things my way. I doubt you are going to convince anyone that DoD is a bad movie if they have already seen and enjoyed it.

I am about as big an Indy fan as there is. Nothing compares to 1 and 3, but I really enjoyed the last ride for Harrison. Did he look old? Absolutely! But I saw the first one of these when I was a freshman in HS and I'm no spring chicken. A lot of what has come out of Hollywood is just garbage imo. This was a fun summer movie and did exactly what I wanted it to. It was a 2.5 hour thrill ride and a summer escape. The ending was perfect. It isn't the best Indians Jones, but it beats the hell out of most stuff out there. Go see it. You won't be disappointed.

I disagree.

Seeing my opinion will give other posters the courage to come forward and admit the truth.

There will also be a lot of posters who see this movie again (probably on accident like an airplane flight movie, because no one on here has yet to say they've gone back and seen this totally awesome movie a second time), and they'll realize their initial reaction was hasty and perhaps just in the spirit of nostalgia.

Consider my contrary opinion a public service announcement.

So… when are y'all gonna go back and rewatch this fully and completely not terrible film?

Just curious… but how many booster shots do you have?

Let me guess, you've seen Indians Jones twice, loved it both times, can't wait to go back and see again and again, but only got the Covid shot once…

Oh, wait, you won't spend $4 bucks a month (to a website you're constantly on), for a star, so you can't ignore me…

I've had the original and a booster since we had some health issues in family. In retrospect, that looks like a poor decision. And what does that have to do with an Indiana Jones movie? I'm sure you were just having fun!

So an opinion is now truth? I'd say who knew, but with the way society is devolving these days, I guess I should have known that. My bad.

I have seen every other Indiana Jones movie multiple times in the theater. Whether I get to see this one again will have nothing to do with what I thought of it (behind 1 & 3 and ahead of 2 & 4), but rather if I can find time to see it. Some folks have families and jobs that will take priority over seeing a movie they've already seen a second (or nth) time. I also have to weigh seeing DoD again against the fact that I have tickets for Mission Impossible and Oppenheimer on opening night back-to-back weekends. But yeah, I'll probably sneak out for a second viewing on Saturday morning because - my opinion - I thought DoD was a good, entertaining movie that was a good send off for IJ, and (sarcasm) to spite you.

I've seen it 3 times and I liked it 3 times. It's not as good as Raiders or Last Crusade or Temple of Doom for that matter but I enjoyed seeing Indy on the screen again and I don't care a rip about any other opinion that doesn't like it; you're opinion doesn't take away my joy of the movie.

You have your opinion and I have mine and that is just fine.

Seems predictable - seems like an intentional theme these days to subtly emaciate classic heroes in some **** remake.

Growing old isnt bland or all regret. Hollwyood knew how to make 'old hero' movies. They just arent anymore. They're making 'let's gut this character' movies for some reason.

Just saw it this morning. For the most part I liked it, but thought the ending was kind of nuts. Very glad she punched him and brought him back because the other option would have truly been nuking the fridge IMO. And the more I think about it I don't like how Archimedes' plan to have the dial bring people always to that time cheapened Indy's realization about continental drift.

I loved the WW2 sequence at the beginning, felt very much like an Indy movie. And while I don't like the continuing trend to deage actors, WW2 Indy looked amazing and it made me wonder what kind of WW2 Indy movie Spielberg could have made in the 90s had he not been making serious WW2 movies at the time and decided he didn't feel like making fun adventure movies with Nazis anymore.

I stayed for a couple minutes of the credits because I knew it was the last time I would hear the Indy theme in theaters, and then when "Music by John Williams" appeared I realized it was the last time I would hear a new John Williams score in theaters, and that got to me.

Agreed on all points on WWII Indy. The throw-away lines in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull really ignited my appetite for a WWII Indy movie.

Damn, I really want a full-length WWII Indy movie. But I'll dump on Spielberg on that note. Off the top of my head, I count Spielberg Nazi movies as 1941 (Christopher Lee as a Nazi aboard a Jap sub), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Schindler's List, and Saving Private Ryan. He was quoted at the time of Schindler's List as stating he would never again make a movie with "comic book" Nazis. To me that is cutting off his nose to spite his own face. While there is room for "more serious" WWII movies, he certainly could have done another WWII-era movie with "comic book" Nazis, i.e., another Indiana Jones movie set during the time period.

Loved it! I've been an Indy fan for life (I'm almost 51) and thought it was a fun classic Indy film. Nice call back to the original trilogy. Sure it has issues but I'm glad I saw it on the big screen. This was from an 80s cruise recently.

Just got back, and while I liked parts of it, I didn't really like it as a whole. I probably would have enjoyed it more if it was on Netflix (or Disney+), but I certainly don't think it was worth the $80 for a family of four.

Surprisingly, I don't think Harrison Ford was too old for the role. I thought he was still great. I enjoyed the chase through the streets of Tangier the most. The ending was just bad. I can't explain why, but I'm cool with opening the Arc and having it melt off people's faces, but I'm not really into Indy doing time travel.
