Ok, here it is...

Quote:

Joanna Robinson, author of the new Marvel book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, recently shared that Marvel Studios president Kevin Fiege intends to reboot the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming movie, Avengers: Secret Wars.

"We have a quote from Kevin Feige sort of implying that, like, Secret Wars will serve as a soft reboot in which they can prune everything," Robinson said during an appearance on The Watch podcast. "That's not to use a Loki-ism. [They'll] prune everything that's not working and just keep what is [working], or bring back people you thought were gone forever."

I imagine I'll be long-since checked out by then, and gladly so, but there you have it.

Right. I get that. I was just adding whatever context I could to "whatever crescendo this phase is working toward."

I agree 100%. That's why so many people are frustrated, because so much of this phase and the last feels aimless and unconnected. That said, The Kang Dynasty is three years away, while Secret Wars is four years away. So the hope is that in all that time everything starts to gel/crescendo more.

It is kind of hard to keep it going for over 20 years with the same characters, but people want to see those same characters

You're a braver man I if you're willing to delve into YouTube comments, and there is no amount of money anyone could pay me to ever attend Comic-Con again, but if either float your boat, go for it. I haven't been to theforce.net in ages, but yeah, I could see that place still being mostly positive.
I'm talking about actual people on YouTube. Guys like Jay and Adam that Spilner and I dig.

What in the world is wrong with going to Comic-Con?

I didn't say anything was "wrong" with going to Comic-Con. Personally, I've just had two horrible experiences there. It was the dead of summer, 100 degrees, sweating my ass off, 100,000 people packed in and around a convention center with no where to sit, lines everywhere, the "parties" were lame, if we could even get into them in the first place, we had to fight just to get sh*tty hotels, etc, etc, etc. I'm just saying, I'd much rather wade through some negative comments on a message board than experience any of that ever again. But if it's worth it for those who love the atmosphere, walking the floor, seeing the panels, etc, that's great!

I haven't seen the specific quote myself, but I saw a bunch of headlines recently where Feige hints, in that new MCU book, that Secret Wars will ultimately reboot the entire MCU. In a way where they could basically start over from scratch if they wanted to. Personally, I think that sounds dreadful, but it seems to be where all of this is heading... a giant, multiversal war in 2027 that ultimately results in at least the opportunity to end/reboot the entire franchise.
i mean... that was the whole point of the Secret Wars storyline. It soft rebooted/reset the Marvel Universe in 2015.

so this has been pretty much assumed what was happening.

but honestly, they should just go straight to Secret Wars, bypass Kang Dynasty, and go for the HARD reboot.

I mean.. does anyone really care about ANY of these characters that are still around?
Yes

I'm not caught up, but I just wanted to say that I'm really glad I'm not the only one who feels entirely lost the entire show but still enjoys it.

This is kind of the train of thought I was going down. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that He who Remains was a "good" Kang variant and the invention of the TVA was his way to prevent any "bad" Kang variants from seizing power. Maybe Timely is a good variant or maybe he is the conqueror that needs to be protected for some reason. I'm not sure. Whatever happens I'm just along for the ride.

I don't mind being lost in a stream of Technobabble, especially from Ke Huy Quan. But I'd like for it to pay off to some big realization/solution later. We'll see if they pull it off.

Man. I just have a feeling and hope that these next 2 episodes could be the most important episodes in any of the series or even recent movies marvel has put out. I for one can't wait until next week!

That whole episode reminded me of a peak episode of "Lost" - stunning action, stunning revelations, mind-blowing finish.

The sadistic look on Miss Minutes face when they crushed Lysa Arryn and her followers is going to haunt me in my dreams.

Any guesses as to what in the hell was going on with the two Hiddelston Loki(s)?

Could Victor Timely's death give Marvel an out to recast Kang should Majors be found guilty come December?

Did we just witness the beginnings of whatever crazy timeline shenanigans are going on in Deadpool 3?

In the first episode this season, Loki got popped by a rod thingy. This episode showed who did it.

If there was ever a character and TV show that would facilitate a recast, it would be Kang in this one.

You've been time slipping.

But it's at minute 37:40 or so from the first episode

Thanks. Just went back and watched that entire sequence. I must have been on my phone or something because I had no idea Loki was in "the future," and I completely missed him getting zapped. So did him getting pruned/zapped somehow send him back to the past, where he came from, where he collided into Morbius?

I really thought, and sort of still do think, that something was going to happen to Timely when he went outside that turned him into Kang the Conqueror, like a Dr Manhattan/Watchmen moment.

Why didn't the rogue TVA general want to partner with Renslayer? It seemed like they wanted the same goal - to restore the TVA to its mission of timeline pruning. Did I miss something?

In season 1 we learned pruning just sends people to the end of time. Think it's safe to assume Renslayer is there now?
Thanks and gig'em

I wonder if this explosion causes Loki to start time slipping again, or if he figures out a way to induce/control it? In the trailers prior to the season starting, there was a shot of him time slipping wearing the same jacket he had on during this episode. Looked like a used car dealership or something with the wacky waving inflatible wavy arm thing.

Also, everyone assumed last season that magic/ powers didn't work at the TVA bc they were outside of time, but now we know that they have some kind of tech that suppresses it. The writers will probably not go there, but that drawer full of infinity stones could sure come in handy right about now....I mean how did He Who Remains even build that loom to begin with? It is literally larger than all of the known universes put together, seems like a job for some infinity stones, or a **** load of Pym particles.

Best line for me was Loki's conversations with Sylvie about playing god and him emphatically staring "we are gods!"

So much awesome in that episode with the finale blast, light flood, and Loki's eyes… then silence.

2 other wild theories I had while asleep

1) Timely, who repeatedly tells us that he doesn't trust anyone, fashions that machine to only make it look like he vanished into thin air, but in fact it takes him somewhere else.

2) The whole thing is an illusion, caused by a Loki variant who we know is capable of incredible illusions, who just got her power back when they rebooted the TVA.

Pruning himself was how he stopped time slipping. He had to remove himself from the time stream and then the extractor that Morbius attached pulled him back to th TVA Loki then collided with Morbius back into the shelter.
