A note on the white shoes-- Tony was wearing white shoes when he was draining his pool. Could it mean a impending threat of death (thus incorporating Paulie's white shoe episode)?

That sucks. I'm glad that I didn't see it - what a freakin' jerk.

As for the shoes, yeah I noticed T wearing them by the pool. Who knows - if he does end up dead, it'll be total foreshadowing. If he doesn't, it'll be just another David Chase red herring. So it's anybody's guess.

I re-watched the Tony/AJ asskicking scene again last night and I didn't see any red laser dot either, so guess that was a hoax.

Anyone read any of the other Soprano internet boards? I can't believe the number of people out there that think AJ, or Meadow are going to take over control of the NJ gang in the end. Good God.
One guy even posted (seriously) that Janice will end up running things. Chase must laugh his ass off at stuff like this.

yeah, i've read a lot of that too. i think that would be a total 'jump the shark'. a terrible way to go out. i've been predicting Tony gets whacked....but i hope i'm wrong.

i cant imagine the sadness knowing there is no chance of a Sopranos movie.

Tony I think will end up alone and abandoned, his family exiled and his friends dead.

From an exec. producer:

. And Tony's hideaway, in which he's last glimpsed slumped on a mattress, clutching a huge rifle, isn't his mother Livia's or Uncle Junior's home but a previously unseen safe house used to store loot or host sexual conquests.

thatsa great list.

however, i'd bump "Pax Soprana" up in the top 5 somewhere just because of the totally badass way it ended with the cool music playing while Uncle Jr.s Party is getting recorded and photographed by the FEDS dressed up as waiters....and then the FEDS back at the office rearranging the new heirarchy of the DiMeteo Crime Family. the synopsis from HBO:

quote:
Junior's dream has become Tony's nightmare.

After years of playing second fiddle, Junior Soprano finally became the new Boss of New Jersey and proceeded to drive everybody crazy. Not only did he refuse to honor any deals made during Jackie Aprile's reign, he also didn't let any of his newfound wealth trickle down to the guys below.

So Tony's fellow capos told him they're tired of his uncle "eating alone" and they wanted Tony to do something about it. If that weren't enough, Junior - after a heart-to-heart with Livia - decided to tax Hesh.

Hesh had never been taxed before - certainly not when Tony's father was running things - and Tony didn't want him taxed now. So what's he going to do about it?

In a time-honored Soprano family tradition, Tony went behind his uncle's back.

He arranged a meeting between Hesh, Junior and New York capo Johnny Sack, ostensibly for Hesh and Johnny to get Junior to change his mind. Junior wanted to appear magnanimous and keep the New York bosses happy so he cut a deal with Hesh.

What Junior didn't know was that the whole thing was an act: Tony and Johnny Sack planned the whole thing in Johnny's Manhattan restaurant.

Chitchat with Johnny Sack was not the only reason Tony was in the restaurant. He and Carmela "celebrated" their 18th anniversary, although Carmela cried over more veal than she ate. Carmela knows Tony's therapist is a woman, and she realizes that she's jealous of Dr. Melfi in a way she'd never been with Tony's goomahs. She may have reason, because Tony's been having erotic dreams about Melfi and even attempted to kiss her at the end of a session.

Tony's been suffering a side effect of his Prozac - impotence - and to put it delicately, the dreams about Dr. Melfi are the most stimulating thing in his life right now.

But at least Tony got Junior under control, and he even proposed a loving toast to the new Boss at his initiation dinner. It was a touching thing to see; in fact, it was seen by a lot more people than Tony had intended. The whole thing was recorded by the FBI.

the last 3 episodes have been right up there with some of the early Sopranos as the greatest television in television history though so any one of those episodes should be there too.

robert isler especially (AJ) has really stepped up his game this season from being a pretty much nobody to really turning into a star. i think he's got a career ahead of him.

Totally agree. He's gone from someone I thought was a waste of space to one of the best actors on the show, all this season. He's been great.

I will admit, I have done a bad job with season 6...I watched some of them, but I didn't keep away from summaries and what not, so I know all of the major plotlines that happened.

That said, I am very excited to sit and watch my first (and last) Sopranos episode in a long time when I don't have a general idea of what happens.

I might just make Sunday an all-around mob type day, and watch Goodfellas or The Godfather as well.

Last weekend's episode was incredible.

From the moment Bobby walked into the toy store until the very end, it was pulse-pounding.

I expect the same on Sunday! I'm confident this series will go out with an incredible finale.

I was thinking the same thing. Makes me realized how much I've forgotten about previous seasons, too. Hopefully there will be a complete box set of all seasons out by Christmastime. I know what I'll be asking Santa for!

MY FINAL SCENE PREDICTION (NOT SPOILER, BUT PREDICTION)...

Tony, the boss, and Paulie, the underboss, sitting at the Bing counting cash, telling stories, laughing, loving life. Door opens, they look up and see Sil, fresh from being released from the hospital. "Just when I thought that I was out...they pull me back in..." Credits roll.

holy shi*.......thats awesome. i would love that ending. Sil doesnt quote the Godfather near as much anymore as he did in the early seasons, and this would be a fitting end. nice hopeful prediction!

I don't think it would happen, but would be a kickass ending.

My prediction is 2nd to last scene Tony is with Silvio as he dies in the hospital.

The last shot is Tony all alone contemplating his life, possibly in his backyard.

I've read that David Chase has known what music he was going to use in the finale since Season 1. Music has always been an important element to the series, I wonder what the last song will be....

at least 3 different endings have been shot and NOBODY other than Chase and top HBO execs really know which ending is airing.

my final prediction....

i think there is too much evidence that Paulie turns on Tony. either he turns on Tony, and Tony is able to figure it out and whack Paulie first OR Tony makes some sort of deal with the Feds because he knows there is now nobody left to trust, OR Paulie's betrayal leads to the death of Tony Soprano. a run down of my "paulie betrays tony" evidence:

- Paulie's ratting out of Tony's crew to Johnnie Sac about his wifes fat jokes

- Paulie almost getting whacked on the boat (might be a situation where the one time Tony was careless in not whacking someone he should have, might lead to his own demise)

- Paulie's strange reaction to the ordering of Phil getting whacked (although this might be chalked up to Paulie being Paulie)

- Someone obviously tipping off Phil that he was about to be killed (only Tony's close crew knew this)

- Paulie completely botching the hit on Phil.

Episode is called "Made in America" makes me think that the suspected terrorists are going to play a role in this evening.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, I'm starting to think it's something along the lines of the terror attack and the NY and NJ families kind of call a temporary truce or something because of the "America united" aspect. Blah.

Here's my prediction:

Tony is pinched. His FBI contact calmly walks up to the safe house, tells Tony they have the ability to make a lot of cases against him, but want him in WP after he spills all over Phil. They want to take down NY, not the small time NJ crew.

Last shot is Tony lonely, his Carm and the kids whacked by Phil, looking at some mountain in Alaska.

This also leaves open the possibility of a movie. It would be epic to see Tony tell the Feds to screw themselves, and have him come back in a fury of vengence against NY.

Kind of depressed it's all about to end. One of the last television series that I follow. The other being 24...which was pretty disappointing this past season.

My prediction is that everyone is dead except Tony who leaves town and everything behind. The last scene is Tony at a diner asking the cook what he suggest and he looks at Tony and says..."Try the Johnny Cakes", which Tony orders.

Watching Goodfellas right now to warm up. The guy who plays Phil just got whacked by Joe Peschi. I hope that is an omen.

Lot's of people at Central Market buying Italian cheeses, wines, etc. Sausage and peppers with Pinot Grigio and Chianti for dinner. Man it would suck tonight if you loved the Spurs, Broadway, and Sopranos.

Just watched the last two episodes. Many on here have speculated why they went after Bobby instead of Paulie. Bobby was with Sil and Tony when the went to Phil and asked for 15% on the asbestos.

Another thing I've read on here was Paulie suggested buying the pizza, he did not.

My prediction is they kill Phil. Sil dies. Tony is shown alone.

Sad to see it end.
