Clarke, my advice would be to stop watching the A&E reruns - just rent the seasons, and don't watch these episodes until you've caught up. For the best tv drama in history, the extra trouble is worth it.

I get the feeling more and more that the series will not end with Tony dead, in jail, or a rat. I really think it is going to end with him still "boss" of the family but with no friends or people to trust. It will end with Tony being a very lonely man. I'm expecting an ending that many people will hate (because it isnt death, jail, or being a rat) but will be very powerful.

-With regards to the A&E episodes: They are fun to watch when you're flipping channels and need a Sopranos fix but you really need to see the unedited/uninterrupted versions to get the full effect.

I agree Canuck. A whimper, not a bang.

Chase loves "The Godfather" , and this would fall right in line with the ending to "The Godfather II" . There have already been countless references and similarities this season to the Godfather, so he may end it that way as a tribute to the greatest gangster movie ever made imho....The Godfather Part II.

also, for those expecting a big bang ending, most series finales tend to disappoint...so i'm not expecting anything huge...and if it is, i'll consider it a bonus.

I agree as well, the series will likely end with a "whimper".

I don't understand why so many people, including many on this site, think there will be some fantastic twist at the end. Like Carm killing Tony, or the Russian coming back, or Adriana coming back, or terrorists blowing up New Jersey, etc etc. When has this show ever been about twists?!

It wouldn't surprise me if it ends with Tony sitting in a bathrobe by the pool staring into the woods with a cigar and a drink.

I hope you are wrong Golf but it sure does look like it could end that way.

Maybe the ducks will come back.

The Sopranos doesn't really have "twists", but it never ends how you expect it to.

Very interesting episode.

-For the whole series AJ had avoided being mixed up with "the other family" and Tony had said in earlier episodes he didn't want that life for AJ. Well after years of avoidance AJ got his taste and seems to love the rush/power involved. He's a lot stupidier that his old man and could bring a lot of trouble.

-Christopher is the exact opposite of AJ. He has been in the mafia for his entire life and now is seriously disenchanted with it. He is clearly an outsider amongst his former friends and family. He even tried to come back to them and they still treated him like an outsider. This seems to be the second time (maybe more?) that is has contemplated flipping (I'm remembering the brief moment after Ade told him she was a rat). Could he do it or are we being teased with something?

- J.T. was in between AJ and Christopher, in that he never wanted to be in the mafia life but yet he was always dragged in against his will. He never wanted a part of it and now he's dead.

-It's also interesting that Tony has said for years that he did not want the mob life for AJ but yet he basically opened the door for AJ. He got AJ hooked up with the two young, college students well aware what their business interests were.

-Bobby has solidified his position as 3rd in command. It's all serious and business. He has a brand new attitude he never had before.

They are setting Christopher up to be a mole. No way he doesn't get arrested - and I think Bobby will be arrested too. Let's not forget he did his whacking in public and daylight.

I think we will be hearing the words DNA and fingerprints within two episodes.

And A.J. is going into the life. He seems to have found the friendship he "lost" with Blanca.

Do you remember episode 2(?) in 6b where Chris mentions to his sponsor that the feds are always following him everywhere?

wow. thats all i can say about this episode. there was so much going on in this episode.

this show tries to mislead people a lot into what might happen, and usually it doesnt pan out.

i was thinking last week the show will end with a whimper, but now...i'm not so sure. i think it might end with the big bang some people are looking for.

what it seems like is happening is Chris flipping, Tony going to jail, and AJ starting his rise in the DeMiteo Crime Family. then again, who knows..

all i know is tonights episode was great, and next week looks like much the same.

another thing aiding Chris' flip might be his noticing of Bobby's new higher standing in the family alongside Tony.

one more thing.....does anyone remember last season when Tony said to AJ after AJ tried killing JR...."Its not in your nature(harming someone else), you're a good boy....you're not like me".

this line is kinda keeping me from thinking AJ doesnt make the move into crime. but again, who knows.

Meadow appeared in 2 scenes tonight...they really overworked her tonight compared to the rest of the season.

Wish I could knock down $100k and episode to do that...

It has been mentioned many times on here, but I will point it out again. This show is about Tony and his two families.

Here are the tag lines from the show:

If one family doesn't kill him.... the other one will
Family. Redefined.
Hell hath no fury like Family.
Tony's not like other fathers. Tony is a mob boss.

Last night was the first time in a LONG time that one of Tony's families was completely at peace. Tony, Carm, Meadow and AJ were all sitting together and enjoying each other.

In his other family, Chirs is off the deep end and Paulie is slowing going insane. (the look on his face as he was driving over to Chris' house was awesome). Jr is done, he has an issue with Bobby, and he doesnt get along with Phil and his crew. The one guy that he seams to trust 100% is Sil. Lots of options on how this will all end.

If family one doesnt kill him, the other one will...

i think chris is a goner. remember when he got "made" and the crow was trying to fly in the window? if that omen plays out over the course of the series i'd say he's as good as dead.

With AJ's recent events I'm thinking one possibility would be AJ messes up and gets caught murdering someone. Tony cuts a deal to save that family, possibly after Christopher chooses Tony over a deal himself.

Not sure I want it to play out this way and probably not real likely, but a possibility.

chase has really thrown us a curveball and given us so many different possibilities to end with.

i'm excited to see how it plays out. the human interest part of me hopes AJ rejects that lifestyle, but its not looking too good for that direction right now.

I've really been liking the 6b season so far (6a was pretty bad by Sopranos standards). I hope it finishes strong.

With 4 episodes left, there's still a lot of hope that a lot of story lines can be tied up. If we go another week or two with no resolution to Tony & Christopher, Tony & AJ, Christopher & Paulie, Tony and the Muslims, Tony & Phil, Tony and the Feds, it will be very disappointing. I'll keep looking at this checklist and seeing what does and doesn't get taken care of.
Still, the May 6 episode was fantastic.

whatan episode.

also.....i'm wondering if the airbag thing comes back to haunt tony somehow. meadow said that because the airbag went off christopher suffocated. there was no airbag.

i wonder if in light of some investigation, that news comes to light to the rest of the family and others in the crew figure out tony actually killed him.
AgCanuck07

I was absolutely shocked. I don't think anybody expected Chris to go this episode and nobody expecting this way.

This is probably the darkest (I hate using this word but "evil" we have ever seen Tony. He antisocial nature was in the forefront. Killing his nephew and not feeling anything about it. He almost wanted to share his joy with somebody (Melfi/Carm/the guys). After all the embarrassment that Crhis' drug problem caused Tony, he went and did drugs. Yet again, no remorse.

Question- At the end did Tony yell "I get it" or "I did it"?

This entire episode had such a strange feeling to it. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was but it just seemed really odd.

-2 potential plotlines seem to have been cut-off (AJ's moblife and Christopher the rat). The NY/NJ plotline still seems to be moving along but who knows.

similar to the "Kevin Finnerty" episode but much darker.

you think AJs storyline is over? i kinda hope it is. its a great storyline, but as i mentioned earlier in the week, the human interest side of this show for me doesnt want him following the track he's going down now. i still think last year when Tony said "AJ...you're a good boy.....its not in your nature" (violence) will hopefully be some forshadowing.

Solid episode. I really thought law enforcement was going to get to Chris because he left such a clear trail on his last murder, but that he might not go with them.

This episode was a reminder at why this is such an impressive show: it makes us care for and even develop sympathy for a complete and total psychopath.

The abrupt end Christopher had totally came out of left field, shocking even, especially with all the foreshadowing.

It's called tripping.

Tony said "I get it!" He was saying that he understood how the world works, a common feeling a person gets when they have taken a Hallucinogen.

One of the best episodes ever!

Have you ever been experienced?

Great episode!

I am pretty sure he said "I did it!", both as a tripping confession, and that he got his bad luck monkey off his back. When he started hitting at the roulette table, he flipped out because now that Chris was dead, his luck had come back.

i just read on another sopranos board that it is "I get it".

i dont know what it means though other than maybe the revelation he has to himself that his business and family could not move ahead as long as Chris was around.
