A good old-fashioned TexAgs meltdown, not the Zoo but entertaining regardless.

So Republicans should be okay with it? That's your take?

This should be an easy thing to hang on these Republicans next election

We thought so last time. But it keeps happening.
Well, this vote proves the Burrows bunch are liars. There is no double-talking out of that.

Brad Buckley is a liar.

I will proudly support his republican opponent next time. Brad has overstayed his welcome.
Good luck. The Texas GOP is great at eating their own.

Burrows and his supporters literally turned their backs on the GOP and their word to support the choice of the caucus. Your side is definitely wrong on this one.

I need to pay more attention to state politics. My rep is one of the Phelan sychophants. I'll not be voting for him again.
Hopefully the State GOP follows through with the censures and you won't even get the chance to vote for him again because he won't be allowed to run in the Republican primary.
Hope so too but color me skeptical.

Republicans are dumb! Most of them just don't get it. Dems would never ever do this.

Looks like Burrows ended Democrat chairmanships

"We're really, truly a body of working together," he said. "These concepts work. I didn't set this up with a gotcha here or a gotcha there. But what I've tried to do is create a different framework that isn't that different than how we have worked before."

It remains to be seen, but it sounds like a superficial change designed to placate conservatives. You can bet Burrows will put his Republican support in the committee chair positions, likely ready to side with Democrats over their conservative Republican bretheren. I hope I am wrong on this, but I don't trust Burrows at all.

Just got a second text from lacy hull's campaign tonight patting herself on the back for single-handedly keeping dems out of committee chairs. They must be finally feeling the heat. I'm with y'all, don't trust them one bit and hope the electorate and the party doesn't back off on holding those who voted for burrows accountable.

See the Phelan thread. Burrows the Democrat changed the rules and awarded power sharing with democrats via vice chairs.

Burrows created vice-chairs with chairman power in ALL committees and mandated they be Dem. He then added subcommittees he can send bills to that can be chaired by Dems. He then paid the vice-chairs $4k/month (never have they been paid anything extra). He and friends refused any debate, amendments or discussion after sending the rules package out at 4 AM. This was a sham and there is a reason the Democrats (Gene Wu) held a press conference declaring that they had gained the most influence and power they have had in recent memory. This was nothing more than an elaborate trick to allow those who voted for him to declare they "ended Dem chairs" come next election.

This is his response to a mailer sent out during his campaign. He's a sore loser so now he's attacking the 1st Amendment. Hopefully it goes nowhere.

I've not heard these, but apparently Michael Berry has a "drunk Dade" bit that the Tribune thinks could be caught affected

I'd have to see the text of the bill. Parody, such as SNL, etc, and AI generated fakes are different animals, IMO

That one was pretty funny but he got pissed about a mailer that replaced Corey Booker's head with his while hugging Nancy Pelosi. He was up in arms about it.
