Tom Homan, President Donald Trump's border czar, was not moved Monday by viral video of Mexican American actor Selena Gomezcrying over mass deportations while saying, "All my people are getting attacked" and "I'm so sorry."
"It's all for the good of this nation and we're gonna keep going," Homan said on Fox News. "No apologies. We're moving forward."
In another appearance on the conservative channel with host Sean Hannity, Homan asked Gomez where her tears were for victims of smuggled fentanyl and families hurt by immigrant violence and sex trafficking. Trump and allies have leaned into claims that immigrants have caused a crime wave despite evidence to the contrary.
Gomez took down her Instagram story video after intense backlash and apparently deleted a follow-up message which read, "Apparently it's not ok to show empathy for people."
