It is possible that I am wrong today about federal LE recruitment raw applicant numbers, but I know that I am right about racial and gender preferences still in actual hiring and promotion. My best friend is a HSI Special Agent in Miami at the very tail end of his career and laments the status quo constantly. He is Asian and can't stomach the lack of meritocracy.nortex97 said:
I appreciate your response but I do disagree some.To your first point, I think you are largely right. I do question, based on demographics in America (and Texas) today that you are probably wrong in paragraph 2 above. I am, however, strongly in favor of an entirely merit-based, color blind society that does away with racial and ethnic quota's/discrimination. "I have a dream" if you will, and I think it would also benefit….historically minority people.Quote:
It is not possibe to socially engineer an occupation by selecting 1/2 of the applicants from 10% of the applicant pool and expecting that group to be as qualified as those chosen based on merit from the 90% pool. And I'll say it. It is compounded by the fact that the 90% is inherently better at the jobs that I was doing anyway. Women have no place there.
It is without question that my previous occupations would be 90% white males if it was based on pure merit. Lawyering not so much, but it would be almost entirely white at the elite law schools if based solely on merit. Like 98% white.
If you want people to not correctly assume this, you should be for entirely merit based recruiting, hiring, and promotions. Until then ...

Sad to say that this has been the norm since '94 when Kara Holtgreen lost control of her Tomcat and rolled into the ocean. That incident ruined Military Aviation for women forever, especially since nothing was learned from it. To this day, AA proponents blame the crash on a "design flaw" with the F-14, rather than the consistent pattern of weakness shown by her training records, and IP complaints that she was being pushed through the pipeline by overzealous superiors in an arms race to get a female into the cockpit of a fighter jet.Teslag said:

So just to sum up the Rebecca Lobach news:

Dems are allowed to dig up 40 year old allegations on people like Kavanaugh and Trump…
But I’m not allowed to ask details about the first military helicopter pilot in history to fly into a civilian airplane and kill a bunch of kids?

Continue pushing intersectional box checking and this attitude will persist, to the detriment of those women who legitimately have the right stuff.

If it is the right pilot, tht means she got her ATP a month ago, and could have had 1500 hours of total time, 500 of turbine time. Along the way, she would have received her student pilot, private pilot, and commercial pilot licenses. She would have added on ratings for multi-engine and instrument flight. She would have a type rating for that aircraft.
