Absolutely. Thats why they still sell a size 10 hat in hill country stores.

Congrats to Middleton for running a great campaign with a catchy slogan. I expect him to run for much higher office in the years ahead.

A campaign that literally was nothing but "Vote for me, I'm MAGA" and "Vote for me, I love Trump."

He appealed to the lowest of the low information voters and unfortunately they swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

Edit: Grammar
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Welp, not looking good for Chip. Guess we get silver spoon as AG.

We get a MAGA empty suit who looks like Talarico's twin. His only "qualification" was how much he kissed Trump's ass.

This is why I wished Paxton had stayed at AG, and a strong conservative without baggage had ousted Cornyn.

Actually, his district was very happy with his representation of them as a state house member and senator.

Did a great job and he Absolutely doesn't need one. Will be governor or in Congress one day.

Acktually, I heard a strong anti Chip story, including from his district. Don't forget he was from Maryland/ Virginia and plenty of Texas deplorables don't like Yankees.

Sorry, but that is not a campaign. It is an emotional appeal to people that is no different than what the Democrats use to sway people to vote for them.

If he proves me wrong as AG, I'll be pleasantly surprised, because right now I have no reason to think he'll do anything except start his campaign for higher office.

I'm not going to explain it you. I've already made my point in earlier posts.

I could type out a 10,000 word explanation and you'd come back with some insult or glib remark because apparently all you care about is that his entire campaign was "I'm MAGA."

Chip Roy has been my representative for 8 years. I know his track record. You'd be hard pressed to find a more conservative or principled congressman.

My degree at A&M was Construction Science (today's term) but I never worked in construction industry. Going to hire me to build your new building? Why hire Middleton with a law degree, but has never been in a courtroom as an attorney, as the top attorney in Texas?

Spend $16 million of Daddy's money to run blatantly false ads to the low information voters, paid off.

I will never vote for a Dim, but have undervoted on RINOs in the past. I can never vote for someone whose lack of integrity and desire to buy his office, trumps any principles which are clearly lacking in his case.

Surprised it took that long.

Roy and Cornyn are both retired in the same night. This puts an end to their partnership from 2022 when Roy worked for Cornyn's first senate campaign. Both of these guys dispised A&M. I worked with them both and their disrespect was unbelievable considering the job Cornyn was running for and the power of Aggies everywhere.

This exactly. I've always like Chip Roy. Middleton ran some effective ads that I randomly caught a couple of times and I rarely watch ads at all or am influenced by them.

Decided to vote Middleton. In fact every single person I voted for last Friday both state and local won tonight. Maybe I'm just low info but still not tired of winning.

Like what? We never heard about any of that, and voters would typically like to know about things like that. Evidently, neither he nor his campaign staff thought that was important, because all we got was:

1. Roy betrayed MAGA.
2. Middleton voted to ban trans perverts from girl's restrooms.

To the first point, conservatism does not always align with MAGA, because MAGA is populism. While the tree of MAGA might be conservative, its roots are populism. And to the second point, it's as if Middleton would be ok with some perverts, but not the trans ones.

Anyone who runs ads touting themselves as "MAGA Mayes Middleton" should not be taken seriously, but the ads that obviously were targeted to people with a room temperature IQ actually worked. So here we are.
