I voted for Roy because I found Middleton's ads, and to be honest, Middleton himself, creepy. I hope he is able to do half the job that Paxton did without all the attendant baggage.

Welp, not looking good for Chip. Guess we get silver spoon as AG.
We get a MAGA empty suit who looks like Talarico's twin. His only "qualification" was how much he kissed Trump's ass.
This is why I wished Paxton had stayed at AG, and a strong conservative without baggage had ousted Cornyn.
Actually, his district was very happy with his representation of them as a state house member and senator.
Did a great job and he Absolutely doesn't need one. Will be governor or in Congress one day.
What he did for his district wasn't even part of his campaign. He only campaign was "vote for me, I'm MAGA."
Sorry, but that is not a campaign. It is an emotional appeal to people that is no different than what the Democrats use to sway people to vote for them.
If he proves me wrong as AG, I'll be pleasantly surprised, because right now I have no reason to think he'll do anything except start his campaign for higher office.

Texas AG is a high-profile and demanding position, the honeymoon for MAGA Mayes won't last long if he's not qualified for the job.

Roy and Cornyn are both retired in the same night. This puts an end to their partnership from 2022 when Roy worked for Cornyn's first senate campaign. Both of these guys dispised A&M. I worked with them both and their disrespect was unbelievable considering the job Cornyn was running for and the power of Aggies everywhere.
Curious on how/why they despised A&M

He'll spend some time doing the things an AG is supposed to do, and a lot of time filing performative lawsuits that end up getting dismissed in nine months to a year. File the lawsuit to get the headline, and it gets quietly dismissed later. The playbook worked for Paxton, why wouldn't it work again?

Congrats to Middleton for running a great campaign with a catchy slogan. I expect him to run for much higher office in the years ahead.
A campaign that literally was nothing but "Vote for me, I'm MAGA" and "Vote for me, I love Trump."
He appealed to the lowest of the low information voters and unfortunately they swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.
Edit: Grammar

Roy was a very very huge tu sports fan. And a grad. Arrogant personally.
It is good information to have. And as an Aggie, it matters to me if a candidate hates A&M.Ag CPA said:WestAustinAg said:BaileyAg said:WestAustinAg said:

So is Middleton, what does that matter?

You can't side with Liz Cheney or *****foot around a Trump impeachment and expect Republican primary voters to brush that aside.

Cornyn thought aggies were corny and that A&M was weird. I worked on his campaign, and he smirked at me when I was walking him through how to speak to the aggies at a campaign event. Nothing deep or sinister. Just total lack of knowledge about what being an Aggie is all about. He also hated Perry.
