Im Latino, speak spanish, love Bad Bunny's music, and even I thought that his performance was kind of weak and probably not the best fit to perform the halftime show. The two people he decides to bring out are Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin?? That was an odd choice.

Pretty sad when watching curling on the Olympics and reruns of Kenny Rogers "Gambler" movies is more exciting than the Superbowl and it's halftime farce

You are getting there..

Apparently the little kid that got handed the Grammy during the halftime show was the kid from Minnesota that the media wrongly said ICE used as bait to deport his father

It was not. That was another lie made up on social media.

Thanks for the correction, saw it posted on Facebook and made the leap.

All I know is that my liberal friends on FB were ooohing and ahhhing over the show, talking about how moving and emotional it was -- even though they couldn't understand the words.

LOL.

Has anyone run the halftime show through AI to translate it to those of us who don't speak Mexican?

Had the entirety of the game muted. Went out and threw the tennis ball for the dog at halftime. Worked for me!

I'm a big Texans fan. But I just don't care if either one of these teams win… or lose, just a meh match-up.

Texans suck. 50 years ago the Cowboys would have kicked their asses.

The Cowboys haven't been much better since the Texans were founded. Every NFC team has made the NFC Championship game since the last time the Cowboys did. The Texans have seven playoffs wins since their inaugural season. Over that same time span, the Cowboys have four.

Just another element of modern society that gets overly politicized.

The NFL chose him on purpose. The buildup and controversy was all part of the marketing plan. Gotta go viral, you know? Even if it's for something unsavory.

I think people on the right had some reason to be concerned about what the show would portray and whether it is appropriate for a SB halftime show to be performed in a language other than English. And to be fair, some of it was a bit over the top if you consider America a sovereign nation, as conservatives do.

But the funniest thing to me is 60-year-old liberals today acting like Bad Bunny -- who they had never heard of six months ago -- is some combination of Prince and Paul McCartney. And that his messages of "love and unity" were so stunning and brave.

Everyone line up and repeat the messaging!

The Houston NFL franchise and the Dallas NFL franchise have been around almost an equal number of years. One has had no Super Bowl success, the other has, but none in decades. Both cities suck.

I'll admit, Bad Bunny did give maga very little to get their outrage fueled by.

Meh, we can all go about our lives knowing the world didn't end and get ready for the next thing to come out to outrage one side or the other.

The most hilarious and typical hypocritical thing about this whole thing is it exposes the right. They've spent the last years talking about how things should be merit based and that race/culture shouldn't matter. Bad Bunny got this on merit despite the NFL knowing they'd get flamed by the hypocritical right.
So you're one of the three students who was enrolled in the Race and Gender Studies program. Sorry for your loss.

honestly if any American believes this is appropriate for young girls to be watching:

to believe that American culture has not been coarsened and defiled and is disgusting when compared with our culture from the 1940s and 1950s

The Cowboys were established in 1960. The Texans were established in 2002 (the Oilers team was moved to Nashville).

bad bunny isn't for everyone, but it was a joyful and fun performance. the political message wasn't overt but it was clear: latin american culture is american culture, and no amount of nativism will change that.

Oh it's 100% marketing.

They wanted to virtue signal over the immigration issue and this would get both positive and negative attention which is all that matters. They don't care about actual unity, they just want people to think they do so they tune in, react, and see product placement. The people in the stadium who paid a lot of money to be there also aren't their target.

And yes it is hilarious to watch people who never knew who Bad Bunny was act like life-long fans. "I'm cool. I'm down with what the kids are listening to these days!"

No one has had an issue with latin american culture being a part of american culture. Just like they don't have an issue with german, italian, irish and other integration of cultures in who we are as a nation.

There really is no "latin culture". "Latin culture" from someone growing up in Ciudad Acuna will have more in common with someone white from San Antonio than they will from someone growing up in Puerto Rico.

We have to stop thinking of hispanics as a monolithic block. They aren't. Not even close.

I went to the NFL's YT channel and clicked on the SuperBowl video. NOT ONE F'ING BAD BUNNY COMMENT !!
The CCP could not delete comments that fast and effeciently. Keep going down " Boys Scouts of America " route like their cowardly leadership did. I am looking forward to that CS'rs Roger Goodell and all the other amoral owners slowly, but surely self deleting the NFL because of greed and lack of character.
