The average datacenter is 400 - 600 MW. This is what we're going to devote our electric demand on? Is the climate no longer changing?

It's a misquote of an older statistic that states that 10% of American women 18-24 have an OnlyFans page. The true number seems to be about 5% for this demographic.

Shouldn't forget that Altman led the "coup" against his own board to reverse their original guiding principle of safety and ethics so he could commercialize it. That entire board is gone now.

Commercialization is not inherently bad but going from a vision of safety and ethics to porn generation (albeit fake people) is quite the 180. I hope all of of the porn actors out there have been saving their earnings (lol).

OnlyFans doesn't release much in the way of account demographics so this is much more feel than true data analytics.

Grok has given me three numbers and 3 sets of calculations. :-)
4-7 % for 20-30 year old American women with ACTIVE accounts.

There are few high earners, most make peanuts.
  • So I suspect the churn is fairly high.
  • No reason to keep an active account that only reminds you that you were a porn "failure".
  • I also suspect the numbers of girls trying the "lifestyle" of porn was pretty high during the COVID fiasco.
So, to me, 10% seems reasonable. I would say that 7% is probably a "rock bottom" lower bound.

Exactly my point. 10% of women having accounts on OnlyFans is a lot of women, damaged in a lot of ways. If this removes the exploitation part, that is a net benefit. IMO.

I realize many here are very anti-porn, but the truth is porn has always been around. E.g., there was so much erotica art and "toys" discovered in reclaiming Pompeii, archeologists invented a new word.

Pornography.

Is there a basis for the 10% number? I admit the hypocrisy of meaning asking for a source, but it seems quite high to me. I would peg the actual female "models" who have an account with their own pics that they post / produce themselves in order to make money is probably 1-2%.

On the flip, the number of young females and males who have taken naked pics on their phone and sent them into the ether thinking they were private and never getting out…? I would out that figure at probably 20-25%.

Facial recognition through AI of your leaked nude selfies will continue to do more harm. Using AI to turn your friends mom into Stormy Daniels banging Trump in AF1 will become new high school prank.

Melanie getting the Take It Down act passed was at least a step in the right direction.

Also replied to this from other poster, so it only looks like a double post.

The irony of OnlyFans success is that absent some viral moment to get you out there, the amount of marketing a girl has to do to build and maintain a following is the same as they'd have in ANY line of sales and marketing work.

I heard an interview several years ago with a former OnlyFans "star"/top earner. Not just the time shooting, editing, and posting content, but the interaction with the fans was constant.

We all know the classic line, the stripper only likes you when you're paying. Well the customer pays mostly for the conversation and interaction or custom content. She said she was making big money, but it was absolutely a full time job and ultimately unsustainable.

Funny thing is today she could use AI to handle the chats with her fans, and probably use AI to put customers name into a video rather than having to reshoot and edit for 5,10,15, or more custom requests.

This quote is comical hubris. Really? So Sam Altman just declares they've solved mental health issues as a result of using AI?

Quote:

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In printing, there is a pattern of symbols called the EURion constellation that prevents some things from being copied. It is discretely on currency, checks, title documents, etc. When you try to make a copy of those items, the pattern is detected and the printing can be blocked.

I think there needs to be regulation with AI tools to add something similar that is a clear identifier that something is AI-generated. It could be discrete but easy to detect by a computer. The problem is though that it would likely only work for tools from real companies. A lot of the AI image generation tools, and I assume moving into video as well, are open source so they would be harder to regulate.

Isn't digital authenticity verification what NFTs were / are all about?

So the metadata on when, where, by whom / device info along with content gets recorded to the blockchain?

Conceptually this seems to me to be what the whole thing was about. But admittedly this is not my area of expertise.

The guardrails to prevent it need a lot of work. I suspect that a lot of the open-source tools like Stable Diffusion end up getting trained (intentionally or not) on underage content and they have a hard time stopping people from generating more of it.

There is a theory that the Chinese-created tools are better than what we have because they are not focused on guardrails. Companies in the west are concerned about regulation whereas companies in China want to have tools that are as powerful as possible and the only guardrail they care about is not disparaging of the CCP.

I've noticed in the last few days that a lot of the AI videos in my IG feed have a "Sora" stamp on them. So you know those are AI generated. The interesting thing is that when you read the text descriptions they flat out tell you what you are watching is real, yet you know it's not because of the Sora stamp. I'm not sure what's going on there.

And then the thousands of subsequent comments on the video have everyone telling everyone else this is AI.

Nothing is real on IG anymore. It's wild.

While this is true, it's going to have major impacts on men and women since a lot of people will get exposed to this way too early.

That said, I think it will affect the people without options a lot more than the better looking people. They are already shutout of the dating market so all it's going to do for them is make it permanent for good. However, even the good looking people will use these things and it will utterly warp their idea of how a relationship works. Someone who is a yes man to their every desire is antithetical to how a Biblical marriage should work and that's why this could be disastrous.

The one I have found funny lately is the people who steal content and run it through an AI tool that alters it just enough for it to get past an automatic filter. I see this a lot on YouTube Shorts where a bot grabs a short clip from a movie or series, keeps the audio, but puts a filter over the video to make it look slightly fake. You can always tell when they are concerned about copyright because they will not put the name of the show in the title or description. These clips get tons of interactions because people recognize them and like the content and do not always realize that it is someone posting it to rip of the original creator.

There are already a ton of AI Instagram accounts of women with almost impossible body proportions that would require a lot of plastic surgery to obtain. Right now it's obvious they are AI but in 5 years it won't.

I imagine much of it is being staffed by "migrants" now and run by the cartels.

No need to have sloven sweaty dudes with an 8MM camcorder in an office suite with a black couch.

There are already numerous accounts run by Indians using exactly this formula.

My entire feed is AI. I don't see posts from friends anymore. I don't know if friends have quit posting or if the AI algorithms just dominate the thing now. My entire feed is the following with the order of priority and frequency of clips moving around constantly.

- Meme pics / videos
- Short clips of AI women sharing their jiggly bits
- Some group that rebuilds Chevells into the most badass muscle cars ever - I think these are real
- Star Wars content
- Fitness apps trying to get me to buy their app - my favorite is the muscle bound Arnold guy that got that way doing Tai Chi
- All other random AI videos here

I don't post on it other than to put a picture of my dog on there about once every six months. I'm likely about to just kill my account altogether because it's just a cess pool wasted time. It's the only social media app I even have so I might as well go all-in and kill that one too.

I'm pretty sure since you have to have a verified account then any illegal use would be tied to an actual person and not anonymous meaning LE can find you.

AI will probably be 75% of all content on Instagram soon. Most of the slop now is AI even if it looks somewhat real. Sora and other systems have basically crossed the uncanny valley rubicon and it's now very hard to tell if it's AI.

That was the big issue when Elon was making an offer to buy Twitter. He made the initial offer and then after doing his due diligence, he found out that a huge number of the accounts were bots and I can only imagine that the percentage keeps increasing.

Hell, it is clear that some accounts on here are bots but there is not much that can be done about it.

Speaking of Star Wars, that's an example of what said earlier about fan videos.

They do far more better and accurate seeming sequences of the star battles and great vessels than the latest Disney stuff at $$ millions. (Andor excepted)

Btw, there is at least one GEICO commercial I am convinced the brunette in is AI and maybe even the whole restaurant bar. Usually the setting and `cast' look real.
