Seeing this making the rounds. No reason to think its fake, but never know these days.
I forget the flight number... But that's reminiscent of an American Airlines flight years ago. The plane had come out of a significant engine overhaul and the mechanics were not following proper procedures to install the engine. I'm that car though when it ripped free it flipped up and over the wing.
What was crucial though was that it completely destroyed numerous hydraulic sirens that were required for flight.
Damn

Clearly, it did.

Can you get any lift if the hydrolics of 1 wing are done for? That is more than an engine failure, that thing ejected itself from the plane. That had to of damaged that wing severely. It looks like the runway is elevated and thats all the height the plane had before hitting trees/buildings with its tail and rolling in the air to its left.

Please remember that there are folks on this board who will be very close to this (As in - most likely know the pilots close)
Let's try to keep the comments and speculation a little more on the rails than we did with the Air India 787 crash thread.
Thanks and Gig 'Em!

This is rather ominous. Please tell me it was not a poster on this board or an AG. It is really horrible whomever it was, but man I sure hope it was not "one of us."
It's not our poster, he flies 747s. Even visited me in Sydney once.JB!98 said:HollywoodBQ said:

But, these are his colleagues.
I lost one of my direct reports in a small plane crash 2 years ago in Arizona.
Notifying my other direct reports about the loss was tough and we're just IT nerds, not aviators.

Crazy that if it was a maintenance or repair issue it didn't show up right away

Starting to have some eerie similarities to AA191. Reports are that it was in maintenance for over a month until a few weeks ago. Then has had several flights. Pretty much exactly what the plane in Chicago had.
