Count me among the number of people who looked forward to this thread every Sunday. It's my first stop on TexAgs on Sunday mornings.

I show the memes to my wife, who rolls her eyes 9/10 times. Which of course makes me smile even wider. I share them with friends and family.

You are appreciated here in this virtual community. I apologize for not showing that more.

This.

Although, I know it's a metric buttload of work.

Thanks for all the laughs and joy you have brought to so many of us. Enjoy your well earned break.
Still I'm looking forward to your memes on other threads.

Come here every Sunday morning for the funnies. Disappointed to say the least.

I have shared many a funny from your threads. Just never reply. Your effort is well appreciated. I'm sorry you don't feel that way.

If truly done, thank you for everything. It's been a blast.

You are what brings me back to Texags. If Billy was interested in ROI, he'd put you on staff and pin your posts to the top of texags!

If it's ROI you want, post to X where your exposure would be 100,000x. I would follow you and link to everyone I know.

I wish we could rehome the cartoon thread, but I think it wouldn't be as good. I hope you will revisit the idea of doing this thread again in a few months. You probably brought more joy to than anybody else who has eveer posted on TexAgs. Thank you !!!

But just as when someone laughs in person, which is feedback, so is a comment. BTW, comments on this thread keep the thread atop of the forum so others can laugh at the memes. When the thread dies around noon and sinks down the page, it makes me think I have failed.

My response to this would be when people respond with their own meme it's that persons way of conversation with you and maybe even seeking your acknowledgment as a purveyor of meme comedy. But in the past you have shut down Sunday funnies due to people riding your coat tails. I think to true Sunday funnies historians there is some confusion…. Do I respond…. Do I keep to myself, don't want to upset the ebb and flow of this. TBH it's too similar to the menopause I think my wife is experiencing!

You could always scale back to one Sunday a month, could better balance effort vs impact

Rocky, please reconsider your decision.

Almost every week I cut & paste them and email them to a distribution list of about 20 friends. These (mostly) guys are not Aggies and not on TexAgs, but they love the memes.

Rocky the Dog, we love checking out Sunday Funnies after church. We send them as far as Michigan to a cousin not on TXAGS. Our daughters get them too. We love all the dog sharing too, as we are dog people. I recently got on my husbands acct so I am able to comment now and try to but am guilty of missing sometimes.
Please reconsider. It would be a great Christmas present! I looked at the post from last Christmas and starred it as I couldn't last year. We love you Rocky!

Will miss the Sunday Funnies as will my daughters I share them with. I understand and respect your decision.

IMHO you should look at views and not replies.

I personally don't ever reply as I see it as cluttering a thread. Some are introvert and some are extrovert.

Thanks for the past entertainment.

You had 87 blue stars. That thread mattered as have the rest of them over the years.

But if I'm being honest this isn't the first time we've been here. If you do it for praise and adulation you should stop. If you do it to bring joy to at least 87 people then by all means continue. I don't need to feel obligated to tell you it was a great job each week.

You are a good dude. Thank you for what you have done. You provided a great service to Texags over the years, and times change. Things must move on. Like anyone who provides a public good without real compensation, you get taken advantage of. I will admit, I was probably one of those people. You are a valuable asset and a person who continually improves and enhances this site. A belated thank you for enhancing my enjoyment of this site.

Well, I am one who regularly stars your SF posts, and often will respond with one of the memes that brought me the biggest smile to my face. I will miss your posts, but I get that these require a good bit of thought and work to post.

Thank you for your memes every Sunday. I look forward to them every week. I save and use them occasionally.

I understand the time it takes, but they definitely make me smile and laugh. Hopefully you reconsider

Rocky,

I can understand reaching such a point and maybe you feel need to take a break. I would like to say, in my field I post not infrequently some elaborate work with a lot of research in a pro bono fashion. Sometimes the lack of response or overt notice can dissuade, but then you hear from people at the next meeting or encounter or get an email and you learn just how many have been actually avidly looking at them.

I do it for those anonymous I know it will really assist or pick up their day or help their work. Fully aware the return will not often be immediately visible (certainly nothing quite as prominent as stars) but above all, I like doing such things, and the act of posting them is simply sharing. The work part is having to format and arrange things in ways don't care about when taking down notes or research in own files. This is where your comparison to a comedian and his feedback come in.

You bring up an important point that feedback is part of your cycle loop, especially if what somewhat miming is a comedian's act with his audience. In my case, knowing how it will be used and referenced is the return--so I don't have to see it. Just making sure its out there and not lost or confined to just me.

For your sought for audience responses, I would say TshirtVulture brought up a point. For some of us, always chiming in feels like you might "put your foot in your mouth" or worse look like you are saying "look at me" which I really don't like doing. So I guess what I would beg you to consider is that many love your work that don't feel comfortable doing more than "clapping" (stars) to use your analogy. ;-)

Your audience is clapping avidly Rocky -- they just are not always coming up to you after the show and
congratulating you in person. The posts here prove it. :-)

Sorry, rocky, I didn't realize Tue feedback was important to you. I've taken these threads for granted. I look forward to it every Sunday, my wife and kids do also. They're not on texags, but the Sunday Funnies are a family highlight. You get a star from me every week.

I'll do better I'd you change your mind

Reading the Sunday Funnies is the number one reason I take a look at the Politics Board every Sunday. As for the 20 replies last week, you could probably multiply that number by at least 50 or more for the number of folks like me who enjoy reading the Funnies but don't make a reply.

I send many of them to my sister on Sundays. She can't blue star them, though.

This is a material point that may have been overlooked:

This is just fact. I suggest cure. Something not unlike what the board does when some thing rates praise or figure passes, done for the same reason -- keeping it visible.

Some equivalent of you guys/gals "Here"

How about that. A "love it" or "Great" or Thanks!!! would be enough to keep kicking up.

Just an idea.

Suppose your Sunday Funny threads were instead contained into a single, unified thread like ** Funny Political Tweets ** thread.

Same content, same # of comments, feedback, etc.

Would you feel the same way today, rocky?
