I read the thread every week, and usually snagged a couple to pass along. Maybe posted/starred once or twice. Didn't know ya wanted feedback in that form. I do think a better gauge would be to look at views.

That said, this isn't Notre Dame. You don't just take your ball and go home cause you're upset….

You're absolutely free to do as you wish - although it's disappointing you've been feeling unappreciated. For what it's worth; your Sunday memes are as close as modernity gives me to the childhood memory of flopping down with those color pages of cartoons.

Now - I will also add - I find a scheisster's humor in that our most prolific meme thief feels unappreciated in his redistribution of spoils…

Sorry, I haven't commented more. I don't offer opinions much as evidenced by the fact that this is only my 81st post in a little less than 11 years on TexAgs. Since I found the funnies a couple years ago, I have looked forward to it each week!

RIP Sunday Funnies. It was an always go to on Sundays for me, and usually was quickly forwarded to the rib for her smiles and laughter. Rocky, you have every right to post or not post for whatever reason you desire. I'm sorry the feedback you desired was lacking, but I can assure you that a lack of appreciation should not be the basis of your choice.

Same as others, enjoyed SF immensely!! But shame on me as I am mostly a TexAgs lurker in general and hadn't posted in awhile to say thanks, but always starred. You are a well oiled machine and took your contributions for granted.

*** Speaking of which, I need to give my wife a hug, kiss and tell her how much I appreciate her before she runs off too!! She rolled her eyes at times, but really loved me sharing my favorites weekly (I just know it)!
Wish I could hug you too, Rocky (and aggiehawg, dermdoc and coastag227 are other faves)!!

Of course I want you to comeback (Encore! Encore!).
If you get the urge again, rest assured, SF was a guaranteed weekly bright spot for many!!

I have never asked for blue stars, and the comments I wanted were beyond 'nice job, rocky'. I needed feedback to improve this running thread. Comments I was hoping to get were things like 'love the Rodney Dangerfield memes' or 'more Calvin and Hobbes. please". I had to know what you liked in order to stay in that lane, so to speak. If Far Side cartoons work, I want to hear it from you. This wasn't about me, but a mere 20 comments last week was really disappointing. And then, of course, as I predicted, there are over 90 comments on this thread today, mostly positive, but some really insulting ones as well.
Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

I haven't posted very often if at all on the Sunday funnies thread, but have loved them and looked forward to them every week. It's a tradition every Sunday morning before church. Very sorry to see them go, but want to sincerely thank you for all the trouble you have gone through to post it each week!

I think you should do a YouTube video with your work each week and get paid for it as your audience grows.

Helps to be explicit from time to time if it is something that means that much to you. And apparently it went unnoticed by a lot of people per this thread.

Either way, I have no skin in this and was just curious as to why this one blew up. Just wanted to give a perspective of a neutral party more or less. Be well and have fun with your new time.

I am about the same age as rocky and we have a lot in common. I knew he was a cartoonist as was The Hubs, among with the Ags and such.

This week has been a bit unnerving for me and I strongly suspect, for him. The thread about user profiles and stars singled us both out, among others. Then the POTD thread again singled us out.

Attention is not the same as validation. Now rocky and I have different purposes for doing what we do on this forum. His is nailing a certain zeitgeist in very current humor. That's a resonating meme purpose. The demos of this forum are changing. Us old farts, have a certain frame of reference that is completely foreign to younger poster. (And usually are just less civil and meaner, too boot.)

Me? I'm a retired lawyer. I want to win arguments. (Ask The Hubs. Second thought, don't.) And over the last several years over multiple topics and multiple threads I have been absolutely nails far more often than I whiffed. And when I do make mistakes, I stand corrected and acknowledge them. So giving me stars is nice, I guess. As is when I run off a wannabe lawyer who tries to argue with me, leaves and comes back with a new username is a capitulation, I suppose. Different type of validation.

Here's the bottom line, Ags. He is asking for help from fellow Ags. And what do we normally do in that situation?

We care enough to offer it. Or is that also now Old Army?
