US sent over another batch of C5s and C17s from CONUS towards the ME. With Israel approving an attack before the protest I would expect something in the next month or so.

Even saw the Turks and Saudi may be helping out.

I'm nervous about tightening the noose around Iran, and it backfiring there. Going to be difficult to fix that mess.

Uh what?

what exactly would 'backfiring' look like?

as it is there is an insane Islamist military dictatorship for 47 years

which has demolished the country and trying to build nuclear weapons and leading the world in supporting terrorists across the planet!!

what exactly would be worse?!?

Solid protest reports ongoing, GPS jamming around Tehran (reportedly out of concern of a Maduro-style arrest), and some indication their proxies do see a regime change happening. Pahlavi went on Fox News last night I think.

Iranian citizens naming a street for Trump has prob made the American left now root for the Iranian regime.

we have seen such large protests that how does Iran even move forward?

entire towns are pledging fealty to the Shah

still not sure why the USA and Israel are not shipping in defensive weapons to all these towns to set up a perimeter to protect themselves

LMCane

this has been happening for a few days now with videos all over showing streets and graffitti on walls and flags on highways and women holding up signs

and OF COURSE the leftists and the communists and the Hamas groupies in the West are for the Ayatollah military dictatorship.

anything that harms the United States, the West, and the Jews they will support.

Are you talking about a second group AFTER the ten C-17s that departed to RAF and USAF Ramstein on the 3rd and 4th of January?

what evidence is there?

Today is by far the largest demonstrations since it began 12 days ago.

that is a fantastic sign.

spreading to more towns, and larger crowds.

now they need to take the Radio and Television Stations.

not sure why they have not done this yet!

I bet they are heavily defended. If the protestors get control of comms, that would likely hasten this thing to conclusion.

It takes time for resistance groups to organize and maintain critical mass. It's more than just showing up. It's having people who can run it, people to put on air, a message that can resonate. You don't just put people chanting some slogans on TV and it be effective. In a country where opposition has been ruthlessly opressed and snuffed out, I'm not surprised it has taken this long. Anyone who goes into the streets has a reasonable expectation that there are too many of us for me to be targetted if things go sideways. Someone that gets broadcast does NOT have that expectation. They should have an expectation that they'll be the first target of retribution from the regime and it's adherents, some or many of whom will have fantastical zeal which will extend beyond the person themselves. You'll need to see some bigger cities go down before that happens IMO.

I think it's because we are staying out of the way, and not real sure who we would air drop guns to anyway. Oh, and the Mossad is all over the place in Iran at this point so why would we want to meddle if the downfall is proceeding anyway?

I have seen several Iranian podcasters who have said the southern region of Iran is crucial if the ouster of the Ayatollah is successful. And they said why that is true is that region was a Khomeini stronghold back in 1979.

why I have been surprised Mossad/CIA have not destroyed the oil pipelines down to Bandar Abbas and the Arabian Gulf!!

It's amazing to see larger and larger crowds- but so far they are just literally walking around.

until they start taking over the levers of power this is just a Twitter revolution.

One of my best friend's wife is Azeri from Tabriz. Tried to set me up with her crazy hot cousin from Tabriz ten years ago but my brain overpowered my other anatomy.

anyhoo, today they are showing video of large protests in Tabriz.

and the Azeris were always assumed to be with the Ayatollah because many Azeris are in the government and military forces.

so we see the north and the south both beginning to crack.

keep going!

This is crucial to regime change. We are watching history in the making.

Not to detract from the brave Iranians that are leading the charge, but this is what strong, competent American leadership, that is unashamedly willing to leverage both our economic and military strength can enable.

Azeris are more ethnically Turks, correct?

Videos coming out of the assassination of Mahmoud Haqiqat, commander of the police station in Iranshahr, Iran. Someone drove up beside his car while was driving, and opened up. Starting to feel like this revolution may have legs, not like Haqiqat whose legs and engine block are one and the same now.

Not sure if this is too gruesome for a second but looks like some patriots have taken out a IRGC leader

as I have been saying for a week- this is the only way forward to actually take Iran back from the Mullahs

correct- the people of Azerbaijan share a border with Iran so lots of intermixing with the boundaries.

the Persians have thick black hair and dark eyes and features, the Azeris more brown hair and light skin and light eyes.

It 100% does have to get there, but the regime has to have the perception of power and intimidation to retain those levers of power.

Right now…not so much.

Frankly, I'd like to see Iranian state resources frozen in places like Switzerland etc. Their vulnerability is absolutely sky high right now to any additional peg being pulled from under the table…which might prompt the mullah flights to Moscow we all want to see.

Frankly, I don't see how (or even why) they can hold out through the weekend even at this point.

It is perhaps unsurprising how uncommitted to the tenets of Islam the mullahs are when it is their own martyrdom for the cause you are talking about.

They've never, for one second believed in that crap/koranic drivel. The first Ayatollah was an abject (and obvious) liar from the get go with Carter etc. in the 70's.

Kari Lake needs to end the VOA ban on the Shah being shown (click thru).

Numbers/other points are encouraging though, despite my entire disdain for VOA.

Well, the last time Iran had a countrywide meltdown, quite a few westerners were held hostage. Sounds rather prudent.

Just the idea that Israel would nuke Iran while it is imploding is stupid.

Well, Australia is governed by a bunch of absolute limp-wristed communists, so whatever. Pompeo, ever the neocon moron, advocates for 'democracy' next for Iran. As I've stated, I don't think that's a great idea for Islamic countries.

I don't buy that the Israeli's would, now, nuke Iran for one simple reason; they are about to enjoy broad ME3 support for more trade/diplomatic ties and peace in the Middle East with Iran falling, and Hezbollah and Hamas will be suffering tremendously, so their use of nuclear weapons against an Islamic target would be…highly contra-their interests (and they have Mossad all over Iran helping the revolution along). If some militant mullah IRGC group tries to take some radioactive material with them somewhere like Afghanistan etc, sure, I expect some Star of David military action, but nothing real big.

Very weak/slow internet. Calls to rely on 'hundreds of thousands' of starlink terminals. I guess SpaceX have left 'the beams on.' No confirmation though.
