Not a lot of functioning internet left in Iran right now. I read that many government sites as well were taken offline.

On my second sip of coffee right now but woke up hoping to read of Israeli strikes against IRGC elements. I saw 160th SOAR (nightstalkers) were deployed to a RAF base (Mildenhall I think; our elite SF helicopter unit).

Hunter AAF, outskirts of Savannah, GA. Near Fort Stewart. Used to be one of the 3 Army Ranger Bn's stationed there. Are they on the move to Iran? Maybe payback for Desert One, May 1980?

Payback? Desert One was a poorly executed mission.

I doubt it. Speculation about the 160th being used to seize the tanker from VZ now (formerly Bella 1).

From Persian BBC news feed, appears to actually be keeping up with protests still today (have to open in a browser with a translator, unless you can read persian:
Quote:

Reports from Tehran indicate that protesters gathered in front of Tehran's Alaeddin Passage on Jomhuri Street.
According to reports, clashes with security forces have also occurred in this part of Tehran.
Protests against the rising dollar price began last week with the closure of shops in Alaeddin Passage and a protest rally by Tehran marketers, and gradually spread to various cities.

With the way Iran is suppressing its people trying to protest, I think they may finally be EU ready.

Iran is now offering to sell weapons internationally via crypto transactions. Hezbollah/various narco proxies adapted to this a ways back, but this shows the depth of their desperation.

I believe Iran ranks somewhere around 8th largest weapons exporter in the world. Their currency is pure garbage so this makes some sense (I think somewhere around 1000 percent inflation in 20 years).

This is starting in about 10 minutes at 12:30 CST, but if the title is accurate (The IRCG loses control of the capital), that would be AMAZING, not just for the people of Iran but for the U.S. vis--vis the Chicoms. Losing two major allies, and other than Russia, their two other biggest oil suppliers would be a gift from heaven and a kick in the nuts to the CCP and their military adventurism.

Iran is in such terrible shape. Curre t leadership will be overthrown and the next morning the reality of the situation will set in.

A. Power Vacuum. Who's going to lead?
B. Economy is wrecked and inflation is out of control.
C. There isnt enough water. Anywhere.

That is the ongoing disaster with no easy solutions.

Only in a limited sense and we have the ability to neutralize all their ballistic missles and confiscate all of their remaining nuclear program material.

Because youre now talking about supporting 2 failed nations.

It's mostly the areas around Tehran. They've been overpumping the groundwater to the point the city is actually sinking. They have been through several years of low rainfall which is only way a matters worse. The current president was trying to build a new capital on the southern coast but difficult to pull off. Now Tehran may face slow evacuation over the next year or so.

It's even worse...
They built a one damn without properly studying around the new reservoir and it's became salty, (exposed salt later at the surface?). Now all of the discharge essentially salted the downstream fields.
Tremendous incompetence in infrastructure laying to lowest water use efficiency in the region...
Diverting water to industry that benefits the dictatorship at the extend of the people...

But by all means Dems, let's let them develop nukes. Scary!

Venezuela and Iran become completely different countries once oil embargoes are lifted. That should provide the funds to support a rebuild and recovery.

These military flights signify a barrel of whoop-ass, not just a can. Likely, these show deployments of the 101st Airborne AND the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

The US Navy Fleet Tracker is oddly dark as well. We have 11 Aircraft Carriers, look at the 12/29/25 update compared to the 03/17/25 update.

We are no longer posturing, we are in OPSEC mode. In Kuwait, the USA maintains roughly 13,500 troops at any given time. These troops serve as a Middle East response force (among other missions).

So why are the 1/75 Rangers and 101st Airborne deployments significant? The 75th Ranger Regiment's primary mission is airfield seizures. The 101st is an Air Assault unit.

The USA just moved a huge strategic asset designed to open the gates of hell into whatever country we choose.

That will take a decade and billions in investment. Companies will be cautious in an unstable political climate to dedicate the funds.

There is an immediate need now that cannot be met.

There isnt a light switch action where suddenly things will be OK.

Well we took out half of Iran's Navy in 8 hours under Reagan and we were not even really trying. Effers kept shooting at our planes and ships, so baloney pink mist they became.

ETA: Does Iran have Russian air defense systems? The ones we just smoked in VZ?

Most of it was destroyed prior to the nuclear bunker strikes.
