My wife is Venezuelan. She made the very difficult decision to sell what she could, leave her business she owned behind and leave for the US during the 2nd wave of the economic crisis years ago. Other than her mom being able to travel here, she left knowing she had no idea of if/when she'd ever be able to return to see her home and family again.

Hard for me to understand the emotions she and her family and friends are experiencing right now. In fact, as an American it's impossible to understand.

It has been crying, screaming, dancing, and one video call after another with friends and family for hours at our house.

I'm sure she'll be extra accommodating to Trump and US interests in the foreseeable future, thanks to us helping her get back to her rightful place, and that's a good thing IMO. We need allies in as many places in the world as possible.

Plus, this might also close a door to Putin to the country's oil and other resources. Another bonus.

Spoke with a good friend of mine from Venezuela this morning. To say she and her family are elated is an understatement. She recently received her green card after years of legal process and might go back to her home to rebuild their livelihood.

Same in our household with wife and my step daughter at Cal. She was awake all night after seeing the news. Wife leaped out of bed when she saw the news!
She has 21 siblings and almost all left VZ to go to Chile, Colombia, Canada, Spain, France and of course the USA for a better life. Hopefully Marina Carina Machado and Edmundo Gonzales can restore VZ to a prosperous country in short time.
