I fully understand the point attempting to be made here, but the screenshot you posted was from a bot account in the UK that reposted a video from 2024. Here is the link. Literally fake news.

This idea of celebrations among countrymen is a well documented form of propaganda. Our country and our money does not belong overseas destabilizing foreigncountries. The results are always terrible and nothing ever comes of it.
…,,,…,,,…

There are blatantly obvious differences between the country Venezuela and the countries Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt.
Venezuela was a functioning democratic based country with Judeo Christian values. Iraq/Syria/Libya/ Egypt were run by dictatorships/dictatorial authoritarian regimes and are run by or influenced by Islamic ideology.
There are distinct core differences in the beliefs of Islam and Judeo Christian values.
The chances for a more democratic government redeveloping in Venezuela is orders of magnitude higher than those you cited.

That is the Twitter gotcha question.

The real-world geopolitical question is: Do you think the Chinese are more or less likely to do this as of today?

I am not a military expert, but should China attempt to invade Taiwan, I would not want to live downstream from the 3 Gorges damn.

No s***! Blow that puppy up, or just damage it enough and the rest will collapse. Anecdotal but there have been many water irregularities happening in different parts of China. Stream beds that have been dry for decades suddenly have water. Other water bodies have pools bubbling up but it is not a hot spring.

The bird thing I'm not sure about as any geomagnetic disturbance can cause that. OTOH, is this water anomaly a sign of deep seismic activity? Dam could get damaged just from that.

By no definition was this a war.

Those "questions" are from people that don't know what they are talking about, isolationists and/or the TDS crowd.

We bombed the crap out of another country, landed military personnel on its soil, and then hog tied and flew off with its leader. It doesn't make one a TDS addled moron to wonder whether this is an act of war that should require congressional approval.

Well let's see. Have we done that in Panama ? Yup. How about with Osama Bin Laden? Yup.

Swing and a miss!
Hey batter batter!

Obl wasn't a head of state and we didn't say we were taking over Pakistan. Swing and a miss.

Panama and Manuel Antonio Noriega say hi

Venezuelan leader's capture comes exactly 36 years after U.S. arrested Panamanian dictator Noriega

Didn't realize it mattered whether or not its a "head of state (which is dubious since Maduro got trounced)" when a nation decides to forcefully enter another sovereign territory to kill a resident there.

This type of exposure did not exist for most of Schumers career. If it wasnt for Elon buying Twitter, the dems might still be able to suppress their hypocrisy.

The dem party is screwed going forward in this new world of instant data retrieval and viral distribution. The only option for them would be to stand on principle, which isnt possible.

I posted yesterday about all of the celebrating that my sister-in-law and other Venezuelan family members were doing yesterday. As the afternoon went on and Trump made his comments about the previous opposition leader Machado not being able to run the country, followed by in their opinions too much emphasis on Venezuelan oil, then the comments made by Delcy Rodriguez demanding releasing Maduro, some of their mood definitely shifted towards "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". Their family members still in Venezuela were very suspicious of a deal having been cut between Rodriguez and the U.S. to get rid of Maduro, but one that might not make a great deal of difference long term.

My brother-in-law went to a T-shirt shop yesterday and got "Make Venezuela Great Again" T-shirts made. They showed their left-behind family members a photo of them wearing their shirts, but their family members actually thought it was AI generated! I guess you can't stop off in a strip mall T-shirt shop and get your own design made into shirts in 45 minutes. I would say cautious optimism has replaced jubilation for all of the reasons above.

Edit: when I ask my sister-in-law what she thinks of Rodriguez, her reply is "She is a Witch!".

Really? Like when the CIA ousted a democratically elected officials in Syria and Iraq?

Your religious distinctions are not only wrong but a clear indication you have no historical understanding of America's influences in South America and the Caribbean. Cuba, Haiti, and Bolivia are all "judeo-christian" that were worse off after American involvement.

Only people that supported Maduro would be upset about this. And who gives a **** about them? Evil people just like the Democrats here. Many of them were happy at the assassination attempt on Trump and very disappointed when he didn't die. I don't give a **** what they think.

Also they cheered and danced in joy over Charlie Kirk's assassination. Too many of the Democratic Party leadership and their minions are morally bankrupt.

She and her brother have a long history of loyalty to Maduro, including helping to rig his election. I don't know who she is at heart and who she fears the most - the people who "voted" for her former boss or the U.S. Suffice it to say, she has a long, uphill battle to gain the support of people who celebrated Maduro being arrested.

The other thread has reports that Rodriguez was plotting behind Maduro's back through Qatari intermediaries to have him step down and remain in Venezuela with US charges dropped or go into exile in the Middle East in exchange for US oil companies getting access to Venezuelan oil reserves. Those proposals were supposedly rejected by the US, so I think it isn't out of the question that she gave in and made a deal that would have him arrested instead while we leave her to step up and take over.

Certainly sounds reasonable. But did the people of Venezuela step out of the frying pan and into the fire? Obviously, whomever takes over has now seen that we can take them out, but another Socialist in power isn't what the country needs to return to prosperity.

What Six Wars Has Trump Settled? Here's The List Of Conflicts He Claims To Have Ended
Six Wars In Six Months Trump's List
1. Armenia and Azerbaijan
Trump hosted leaders from Armenia and Azerbaijan at the White House earlier this year, brokering an agreement to end fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh. He also announced a new "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP), a US-administered transit corridor through the Zangezur region.
2. Israel and Iran
In June 2025, Trump mediated a temporary ceasefire following Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear sites. He hailed it as a breakthrough, warning Tehran to either "make a deal or face more brutal attacks."
3. Egypt and Ethiopia
Trump claimed credit for ending the long-running Nile River dispute over Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam project. While Addis Ababa and Cairo remain cautious, the President insists his intervention ended the standoff.
4. Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo
On 20 June 2025, Trump announced he had overseen a peace treaty between Rwanda and the DRC, ending decades of bloody conflict. He credited Secretary of State Marco Rubio with assisting in the negotiations.
5. India and Pakistan
Trump claims to have defused a potential nuclear confrontation during the India-Pakistan escalation in May. While India has played down his role, Pakistan publicly backed his claim and even nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
6. Thailand and Cambodia
In early August, Trump personally phoned leaders in Bangkok and Phnom Penh to halt a border conflict. Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet later wrote to the Nobel Committee, formally nominating Trump for the Peace Prize.

President Trump also brokered the Abraham Accords

Depends. Rodriguez might just be Maduro 2.0. I don't think we've shown necessarily that we can or even will take them out, only that we're not afraid to. If we really did cut a deal with Rodriguez, we likely had a lot of inside assistance in removing Maduro. The lesson there might be to clamp down on your #2 instead of dear the US. It may also be that wm the Trump admin doesn't care what you do domestically as long as you play along. Really no telling without some inside info on if those discussions actually happened and how

The Narco Regime is still in tact.

The big change is they know they have been severely weakened and mistrust is now at an all time level inside their regime and military.

The Trump admin seems to want to give some time (and deals) to negotiate a peaceful transition. Doing business with anyone within this regime long term will not be a confidence booster to those with the billions to invest.
