Don't forget OL replacing Martin. The offense, like the Aggies, lacks any real speed or explosiveness outside of Lamb.

We know Jerry can't or won't address all of these needs. It's going to be another patch work team full of C letter players.
While I agree that replacing a first ballot HOFer like Martin will be basically impossible, I think you have to trust your drafting you've done the past 3 years. You've spent two firsts and a second on starters, and other picks on guys in later rounds. Trust your drafting and development.

I really think WR makes the most sense. The only other position is d line, but the top tier of d lineman (Abdul Carter, Graham, and Jalon Walker) will probably be gone by then. So do you really want to spend the 12th pick in the draft on one of Mykel Williams, Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon, Shemar Stewart, or James Pearce Jr? Especially when WR falls off a cliff after McMillan, Burden and Egbuka? I could be convinced to trade back to 16-20, and then draft a d lineman, but at 12 I think WR is the best value in this draft.

I completely agree, at least right now. I haven't dug into the draft very much yet, but this is how I currently feel about it.

It does not appear that we are going to get any WR help outside of round 1. At #12, you need to get an impact player, and WR is likely the spot with STUDS still on the board.

I won't completely hate going RB, but it doesn't feel necessary this year. Lots off good RBs out there in the early/middle rounds.

I personally think jeanty is going to be a quick household name next level, but still wouldn't go there with our pick, especially for what it would take to get him as I'm sure he'll go top 10
I think Jeanty is more like Marion Barber and won't last very long in the league.
Man, I think this is crazy. Jeanty is sooooo much more explosive than Barber ever was.

I'm saying we should take Jeanty (I actually think he's gone by 12), but I'm in the camp that he will be the second or third best RB in the league in short order. The guy has elite traits.

I would love for them to draft Burden in the 1st. Plenty of high end RBs in the 2-4 rounds. DT and corner are going to be high priority though

As much as I like Jeanty, I agree.

Best case, I think the best value at 12 will a WR - McMillan, Burton, Ngekba

Then I think there's a good chance there is a big DT in the second.

Get your RB in the third.

Barber ran a 4.49 forty. Let's see if Jeanty comes close to that. My point was that Jeanty takes a lot of hits like Barber did. He may end up being great. Just not with the Cowboys. Our OL is crap. Dak is an average qb. And we have no weapons outside of CD. Like somebody said, we're fine taking one of the top 6 rbs. We have a lot of needs. I kinda wish we'd trade down for more picks.

They need playmakers other than Ceedee. I wouldn't trade down because I want the best of what falls to me at 12. Hopefully a WR and then I get an RB in the 2nd or 3rd.

Unless Mason Graham falls to us, I'm all aboard getting an offensive playmaker.

Have to get dak some weapons in the draft. Would love to get Luther Burden or Emeka Egbuka in rd 1 and a RB rd 2

Nice moral victory

Did either of those games matter???? When is the last time Dallas won a big game they mattered???

Yes they are teams are light years ahead of Dallas in roster, mgmt, owner and coaching staff….

The Commanders are from a QB and OC perspective, but I really don't think their roster is very good. I should also add that their owner and GM seem to be very good as well, which is a great start, but overall their roster is middle of the league at best. The commanders are a perfect example of a fan-freaking-tastic QB and an OC that fits him like a glove.

the Dallas roster and Wash are not that diff.

Wash got hot at the right time. That's the key in the NFL now unless you have an elite QB like KC or Buff. Dallas' issue isn't that they are not good. It's that they don't play their best football at the right times. I don't honk that's a roster issue.

The only positions Dallas is on par or better is #1 wr, kicker, top edge rusher, that's it

What other positions?

Dlhne - Wash
O line - Wash
Secondary - maybe a push
LB - Wash
RB - Wash
QB - Wash

If you're telling me Diggs is healthy our CBs are def better. Overshown is better than any LBer they have.

Parsons makes the DE position clearly Dallas. Add tank in there and I like our DEs much better. Their DTs are better.

Our interior OL is a push, IMO. I'd give them the edge at OT but let's see how guyton turns out.

CD is better than any WR they have. Our TE room is better.

Wash defensive rankings this year were very middle of the pack. Their defense was the definition of avaerage.

There's so many things that go into a winning season. Also, keep in mind Wash benefited from that last place schedule this year. Let's see how they do next year w tougher schedule and DCs have an offseason to work on Daniels.

Agreed. And while we all agree that Philly has been widely more successful than Dallas in recent years, the reality is that we are 50/50 on head to head games with them the past 4 years and I'm pretty sure both teams have 2 NFC East titles during that same time period.

Dallas is right there from a talent standpoint and overall ability to win football games. We are just, and rightfully so, at a complete loss of words for the continued playoff failures for 30 years.

Look at the Lions this year... it happens... it's just happens to Dallas over and over and over again.

All that to say... no reason why the Cowboys can't be right back in it next year.

Same. I tuned in here and there, but I feel like I barely watched them this past year.

It's not the hire of Schott. I dont think anything in his history suggests he'll do well in Dallas, but maybe he'll put together a great staff and surprise us all.

It's just the way Jerry does everything his own way, even as we sit here for 30 years, watching his way fail over and over and over again.

They have more money than any other sports team in the world. They have a salary cap they have to adhere to. But where they have an advantage, is the ability to hire the absolute best and brightest at every coaching position, and support staff position. They could have a management team twice the size of anyone else, doing nothing but managing our roster/contracts. They could use a fraction of their net worth to dominate the league in this regard but they dont. They do it themselves on a budget, and it fails, continually.

And the rumors they're just setting everything up for Witten in the future is beyond dumb.

agreed, I take way more issue with how the hire was done and not the hire itself. He'd be way way down my list, but this isn't a mark stoops burn it down situation. More like burn the Jones family down.
