It's probably going to be Kellen Moore. These guys interviewing like Leslie Frazier, Ron Rivera etc. are just covering your base.

My son and I have been having this discussion. Tell me if I'm way off here.

I think if you look at pictures of Dak the last year or two (post ankle injury), he has really bulked up. It appears to my eye that he is not nearly as flexible and mobile. Certainly, the ankle injury has an impact on that, but I do think there is a noticable diff in his body post ankle injury. Dude looks like a LBer.

Can't help but wonder if it might help him to lost a bit of muscle mass and work more on his flexibility and mobility.

Of course, you may never know, but I also wonder if this injury he had this year could have been due to flexibility issues.

His injury this year was affected by his previous injuries…and unfortunately will probably lead to his getting injured next year…

Cowboys need to draft a qb this year.

looking at some draft stuff today and many of the draft talking heads are saying this is the best RB draft in a long time. This draft is loaded with good RBs. Wouldn't mind if the Cowboys took 2.

Man, I'm struggling with this.

Jeanty is absolutely special. The folks that know more than me and break down the film say he is every bit as good as Barkley, Bijan and those other guys that have gone high in previous years.

I think it's possible he's gone before the Cowboys pick.

I think he's very small and because it's a deep RB draft I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole in the first. That's just me though. Go get Judkins, Henderson, Hampton, Kaleb Johnson or even Damien Martinez out of Miami in the 2/3 rounds. All built much more like NFL backs than Jeanty.
Macarthur

5'9" 215lbs is now small?

You said 'very small'. I disgree. There's plenty of good RBs in the draft so there's no problem with waiting and getting antoher one later, but make no mistake, Jeanty is the best RB prospect in this draft and it's not close.

Not that this guy is the be all end all, but he says Jeanty has the best contact balance he has EVER seen. He's special.

Imagine if we didn't draft zeke, and instead used our 2nd round pick on Henry…let's make the smart decision here, and take a rb in the 2nd with such a deep draft.

Zeke was a stud. The biggest issue w Zeke was the second contract. And there's a big difference in taking a RB#4 and taking him at 12.

If we had a top 5 pick, I'm with you 100%

I'm all in on Judkins in the 2nd or 3rd and grabbing a #2 WR in the 1st. Judkins/ Dowdle, Lamb/ Egbuka would improve this offense drastically.

Hampton the RB from NC is really good.

Cracks me up that there is this list of coveted coaches and Jones won't even call them up and instead goes searching on the list of guys that literally nobody else is looking at for a HC.

Jerry's always hunting for a deal that makes him look smarter than everyone else. So he constantly dugs through trash trying to find treasure. If he was poor, he'd spend all day on the beach with a metal detector looking for gold

If Jeanty is there at 10 I say we trade up to snag him. The one thing that really concerns me is Martin retiring. If he does he will be nearly impossible to replace.
No matter what!

Man, IDK, the Martin from this year wasn't anywhere close to what we were used to. I agree we can't replace prime Martin, but that guy doesn't exist anymore.

It's a great option if those guys are the best players on the board. As much as we need interior DT help, you can't go reaching for it if the right player isn't there.

No team ever has enough picks to fill every hole... Dallas certainly doesn't. You just gotta get players that make your team better immediately. I think a top end WR and RB could bring some real juice to this entire team.

I agree, reaching in the first period is a bad plan, and then reaching for DTs is even worse (Mazi Smith). I did some looking at draft grades/rankings etc. and I am even more convinced that if they are looking to add skill position help, WR is the way to go. This draft is pretty thin at the WR position, as there are only really 3 or maybe 4 WRs that I think go in the first, and while that may seem like a high number, I think the overall talent level falls off pretty quick after those 3 to 4. Those being McMillan, Burden, Egbuka and Tre Harris. Guys after that are Bond, Golden, Jalen Royals and Elic Ayomanor. Good players, but not quite sure they are the levels of former group. Lastly, I think McMillan, Burden and Egbuka are first round locks, but after that it's a crap shoot as to who goes where and when.

ETA: and I personally don't see Egbuka, who is pretty universally regarded as the third best WR in the draft, going until closer to 20 and maybe even late 20s.

Yeah, ideally you shore up your weakest areas in FA and then draft best available. You can't go wrong with an awesome player at any position. We all know how the Cowboys treat FA, so I'm sure we'll still have a lot of high need positions when the draft rolls around

The chances of your team not making the conference title game in 30 years is roughly 2%.

Imagine having the most resources of any NFL team. The highest visibility. All tools at your disposal and you your family style management of the organization can't even get to the semi finals of the league championship in 30 years. Some people couldn't be this bad at their jobs if they tried.

They will hire a retread that has little interest from other teams in the league if any at all. They will make some bargain FA moves. They will have a decent not great draft. They will fill seats at ATT again next year. They will once again not make the NFC Championship game and we get to do all this over again lol.

I remember when Jerry bought the team in 89 and what a long drought it seemed like that they hadn't been to a Super Bowl in 11 years. Bum Bright was called every name in the book for being a "bad owner for going 11 years without going to the big game. Jerry came in and bought em saying things would be different. We are now going on almost 3 times as long without a Super Bowl appearance. Him and his family just don't get it.

I'm guessing he's got 3 things going for him (and perhaps only 3): son of a football coaching legend, would eagerly welcome Witten to the staff, otherwise has no problem with how the Cowboys are currently run.
