Had a late lunch at Maddens last Tuesday. Only one other table at 2 pm.
Liked the vibe the service and the food. Will return. Price was ok too.

Marfa specifically for the pistachio chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy and the "lite ya up" calamari. The cocktails are solid too.

I stopped by to try Hello Darlin BBQ today. Only open Saturday 11a until they run out. I guess their business is doing ok because I pulled up around 4 and they were closed.

Ate at Napa flats bistro Wednesday night. Hadn't been there nor had I been in the previous incarnation of that site.

Started with a wonderfully buttery croissant along with a lovely butter and jelly.

Had the smoked pork chop with New Orleans grits and mustard greens.


Really, really good.

We went Friday night and enjoyed it. I had the scallops. They were good. It was a nice dinner.

Is there anyone in the area that makes their own tortilla chips and sells by bag? I get tired of purchasing from the grocery store and about 1/4 to 1/3 and more are broken in small pieces,

Visited De Baca for birthday celebration(s). We went during the "Golden Hour" at 630 on a Saturday. It is a real treat to find that their incredible and fairly pricey cocktails are 1/2 off from 430-730 so the $20 drinks are actually a really good deal at $10. We all head various cuts of Friesen steaks and they were all outstanding. I liked the De Baca sauce. I got blue cheese on mine trying to recreate an old Veritas favorite but it didn't add much to the amazing steak.

The mashed potato side was eh, the brussel sprouts were amazing and the free chocolate mousse was delightful.

Not cheap of course for 4 adults, but will be back. I'm interested in their brunch which I'm guessing is a buffet as it just lists the different food and stations with no prices.

Did have a very nice chicken mole enchiladas at Frida's today, lunch special for $10! That's a nice price this day and age and it was just enough food.

I did not think new chicken oil was that great today. Snuffy special, all the way, add death. Patty was cooked to a crisp, dry, and actually crisp/burnt on the edges. No drop of "juice" or "grease" at all after I was finished.

I am excited to go but waiting until that grill and staff has cooked a few 1000 burgers. New grills need time to taste like seasoned grill

And I always preferred the double cheeseburger to the snuffy special. Better meat to cheese ratio

Honestly, I didn't have a burger because I rarely do. Mr trouble said his burger was great although he thought they were a little stingy with the death.
