I know, I know, some of you hate sports radio and everyone sucks. But for those of us who listen to sports radio in Houston, I have a question. If there could only be one sports station in Houston and you were in charge, who would the hosts be? The hosts can be former or current hosts.

My lineup would be:

John & Lance - in the mornings
N.D. and Matt Thomas - mid day
Wexler and Pallilo - afternoon drive
John Harris and Sean Pendergrast - evenings
Adam Clanton - late night

I like those pairings. Btw, are you the 'Aggie Dan' that calls into Charlie and Lances show?

I assume 1560 will be off the air soon so hopefully Granato migrates back to Lance.

Adam Clanton is like our version of Conan O'Brien. Stayed at late night too long, and gets sucked into to gigs he'e a little to good for.

I like those pairs. I enjoy listening to Matt Thomas. His sense of humor kills me sometimes.

I would do mine a little differently.

In the morning I want to recap the previous nights events and quick anaysis and reaction to news. I would have Pallilo as my lead guy and to cut the dryness I would ideally pair him with someone like Greg Koch

In the afternoon, I want a little more depth and I'm ok with veering off the hot topic of the day because I got my fill in the morning. Perfect pairing for that is Lance and Matt Thomas. The times they've worked together have been great and they compliment each other welland both like to keep it light and fun.

The afternoons are about previewing what is coming up and more broad talk. During football season, Sean pendergast and John Harris were perfect. During basketball and baseball season Adam Wexler is stronger, but I'd prefer to see him with someone other than cougar matt so the show doesn't get so whiny. Wex and Harris would be interesting.

Granato and Lance did a podcast last night and talked about everything from 610 to 1560 to now Lance being at 790. It was actually pretty entertaining to hear what was happening behind the scenes.

I wish they would just bring back 1560 like it was for the first couple of years. As they said in the podcast it was can't miss radio and something you would actually remember. Everything on the radio now is just boring and recycled.

Also, the Z report is done as the Chron let him and others off and I think this is his last month.

Both Matt Jackson and Sean Pendergast think they're funny and do good voices like Lance. They aren't and they don't. Both are in fact buffoons not to mention Jackson may be the ugliest human alive today.

On a somewhat related note, why is 97.5 reception so terrible?

Ya, over the last 2 weeks it has been getting worse and worse. Thought it was just me but I guess not.

Honestly I like the 790 lineup as it stands. Could they tweak here and there, absolutely, but it is the best all around. I would like to see the 610 ratings without the Texans, because I am not quite sure who enjoys their station.

What, no Nick 'The Nose' Wright or Josh Anus? /sarcasm

I listen mostly to 610 but my biggest complaint is the excessive discussion of the Texans in the offseason.

I really like Mad Radio although I can't listen to them often (10am to 2pm). It's Seth Payne and Mike Meltser.

Lance Zierlein and John Granato are by far the best radio duo ever in Houston. No comparison IMO.

I also honestly miss Hoffy and Nuno -- that was fun radio...
