Looks great for Houston. Looks lame AF over here in the hill country. Need the gulf low to stay south and go more west.

I guess I can count on my 0625 flight Tuesday morning out of IAH to be cancelled.
Yep, I'll be prepping my generator and doing a house test knowing that my power flickers in rainstorms in the 008.buddybee said:
Better be buying the freeze miser and have a plumber on speed dials. Looks like some will need it. If your generators are not ready, you better hope your electricity provider is ready. Remember the last two events?

I looked it up and they recommend a 5 gallon bucket under it to catch waterChewy said:
For those of you using freeze misers, do y'all just run them directly off the faucet or use a hose to direct the water and eventual ice to other areas?
I was just going to shut off the water at the main each night but I've got a freeze miser.
I bought it for my property but drained everything yesterday so it's just sitting in my truck.
My concern with the freeze miser at the house is all of the water it drips out that eventually turns to ice right by the house.
I get that's better than a busted pipe but shutting off the water and draining the lines seems better than the freeze miser dripping water that's gonna freeze.

Dummies. This is either going to happen or it's not. And if it does, school will be canceled Wednesday…not delayed

Aware. Just passing along what is coming across my desk.Tom Cardy said:
ERCOT issued this same statement minus the precip last week, it's nothing new or even special at this point. Just public acknowledgement of the weather and chance for issues if things go really wrong

Saw some discussion on the "heavy snow", apparently that's a dynamic hazard in the sense that it depends how much snow it would take to start causing infrastructure disruptions?
Obviously won't take much in Texas to cause roads to start getting sketchy, for example
