Well it did counter some of the models stating that snow had moved east.
Sounds like they are very confident of significant (for Houston) snow.

4PM WINTER STORM UPDATE
I have a few lines to pass along to you from the National Weather Service:
"Based on the current forecast, this will be the most significant winter storm the Greater Houston area has experienced since at least 1960. This is a highly unusual event for our region that will produce very hazardous travel conditions throughout the course of the day tomorrow and into the early parts of Wednesday. As such, it must be stressed that travel should be avoided at all costs until conditions become safer."
"As the forecast stands, this should be considered a generational winter storm event and its impacts should be taken seriously. Travel overnight and tomorrow will be extremely hazardous if not impossible for much of the area, and travel is highly discouraged. Roads will become slick and difficult to drive on, with icing possible on elevated roadways and bridges."

The 'offical' weather station for Houston is at IAH and not Hobby is that correct? Might make a big difference in measurements.

HRRR and NAM going to perform poorly. Northern stream overachieving too.

Drove thru diboll at 4:30. Coming down 59 back to Htown now. Just a few sleety spits for a few seconds but thats been it between Diboll and Livingston.

Some will complain because they get dry slotted and a dusting. Some will get a good amount

Even more ironic considering it's got to be tougher to forecast winter weather as opposed to just typical rain (which they whiff on constantly too).
