Additional details on the med center robbery. What a psychopathic menace to society.
Quote:

During Monday's hearing, prosecutors alleged Green restrained the victim with zip ties before stabbing her multiple times in the chest, face, shoulder, hands, armpit, ankle, and forearm.

Investigators also said Green threatened to kill the nurse if she continued fighting back.

According to attorneys, the victim was eventually able to escape by using her feet to open the passenger-side door of the vehicle before pulling herself out and running for help.

Green is charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Green is expected back in court on Wednesday, May 27, for a bond hearing.

Hospital officials told employees the victim has since been released from the hospital.

When park rangers shoot a bear following an attack, it is generally carried out as an authorized lethal removal (euthanasia) ordered by wildlife officials. These decisions are made in the interest of immediate public safety, particularly if the bear displays unprovoked predatory behavior

Wish we did this for more dangerous animals

Only a matter of time before it starts happening in an extrajudicial way if the judges keep releasing repeat violent criminals to commit more crimes.

Can't start happening soon enough IMO.

HPD searching for suspect accused of shooting man in front of girlfriend at SW Houston barbershop

Quote:

The Houston Police Department is searching for a suspect after a man was shot and killed before getting his haircut at a west Houston barbershop overnight on Tuesday.

Investigators told ABC13 that officers responded to the strip center off Richmond near Ocee just after 4 a.m. and found the victim dead from a gunshot wound.

So they cut his hair after they shot him?

This is why my wife cuts my hair. Not even getting a hair cut is safe.

Except it couldn't have been my mother, and I doubt anyone else's mother on here, because I imagine our 75 year old moms aren't acting like hoodrats and attacking minimum wage teenage coffee baristas.

Funny how these hoodrats forget that literally NO ONE lives or thinks like them. An entire real estate market is largely based on how far you can get from people like them and still enjoy life.

Ewwww

Reminds me of a joke.

Seamus was coming out of the pub with his son when he stopped and put an arm around the youngster. He nodded towards the village in front of them and said, "You know, I built half the homes in this village but nobody calls me a homebuilder."

Then with a wave of his arm, he said, "And I worked on half the roads in this village but nobody calls me a roadbuilder."

Seamus sighed, put his two hands on his son's shoulders and, looking him hard in the eye, said, "But you *#$& one sheep…."

Reminds me of the two cowboys sitting around the camp eating dinner and they look over to see one of the camp dogs licking his own junk. One cowboy says "I wish I could do that" and the other says "You might want to try petting him first so he doesn't bite you."

Young man shot by Brazoria County Sheriff

This happened in my hometown early this morning. Not exactly Houston, but close enough for government work I suppose.

Young man/kid/whatever is home from SWT for summer. A little after midnight a county sheriff attempts to pull him over for whatever reason. Guy decides not to pull over and instead drives to his parents house. Whether or not it was a pursuit is still under debate, but the fact of the matter is that the guy didn't pull over and the LEO followed him with lights on for the full 3+ minute3 drive to where this guy was going.

At some point after the sheriff's gun goes off. I've read accidental, the kid's lawyer is screaming execution style. Who knows. But the guy unfortunately died.

The facebook posts are about what you'd expect, assuming you can decipher half of them anyway. (side note - my God our education system absolutely sucks) "Kid was scared and just went to mommy and daddy!", "It was only a 3 minute drive! It wasn't a chase", etc, etc, etc. I'm curious as to how this ends up, Texas Rangers were requested to take the investigation over by the sheriff.

The whole "the kid was scared" bit doesn't fly with me. It's Lake Jackson, not exactly a stalwart of police shootings. I could see him wanting to get to somewhere better than the side of the road, but if that was the case he neglected to call 911 and inform dispatch that was his intent and he passed up at least 2 very well lit places he could have pulled over instead of pulling into the garage at his mom and dad's house - which I could easily see the LEO thinking he was evading or going inside to retrieve a weapon, etc.

Hell, for that matter he could have driven to the LJ police station in about the same time it took him to drive to his house from where he was if he was that terrified of a county sheriff.

I'll wait for the Rangers to sort this one out. I'll add this, if I throw my lights on lets say on a freeway, if I see the person existing and pull into a parking lot, that's not a pursuit. Now, if I throw my lights on and the person makes zero attempts to pull over, oh the chase is on and I'm calling in the boys for a bit of fun.

Depending where on 2004 the sheriff initiated the stop, the distance to where the kid pulled into his parents driveway wasn't far - 1.3 or so miles. But in the process he had to come to a full stop at a 4 way intersection and passed up 3 areas he could have pulled off the road safely and that were well lit, etc. so I can see where the LEO went to the assumption that the guy was trying to evade him in one manner or another.

I don't know who the officer was, so can't speak on his physical nature - but the guy that was shot and died was not a small dude. Offensive lineman, looks to be a pretty sizeable guy. I'd expect if a LEO pulls somebody over and the guy getting out is not a small guy, that LEO is going to be a little more excitable than normal.

I'm not giving anybody a pass here and the 48 hour rule is definitely in effect. I'm guessing bad choices were made on both sides.

I read he was by either This Way or That Way when the officer first turned on his lights.

IIRC, those streets intersect? He would not have been only on residential roads, but not freeway, either.

I'm with you, I'll wait for the report to come out to see what really happened.

1.3 miles I've already called in pursuit and taking evasive action.

It was This Way and FM 2004 from what I've read. I assume he was on 2004 when the sheriff lit him up, but where exactly I couldn't tell you.

If he was by Bess Brannen, he definitely could have made it to the police station faster than making it home.

Man. Just pull over and get your warning or ticket and deal with it later.

He wasn't too far from there. It was about 1.3-ish miles to where he was shot, 1.75 to the police station.

So many things he could have done here.

Yeah, that attorney BS isn't going to help anything.

Unless body cams and what not show he was actually executed by the LEO, stating things like this should get him immediately fined heavily the second a judge is assigned.

The coaches who taught drivers ed at my HS - and my parents - emphasized this so much to me that it's amazing more people can't grasp it.

Growing up in a part of town where we had to drive through Bellaire, West U, and contract patrol neighborhoods probably helped drive that point home too.
