Thanks for the updates. Looks like we just need another 150 Aggies to step up and give a little to this great cause for a former player and we will have an endowed scholarship forever in his memory.

Good Thursday morning! So this all started about a week ago when someone put up a thread on TexAgs saying that we should remember the Villavisencio family. My how things can change in one week! As of last night, which was officially seven days from the first posting of the thread, we've raised 11,000 dollars towards a permanent scholarship in memory of Joseph Villavisencio. That's almost half of what we need in seven days.

Having said that, giving is slowing down some. So we need a push to get a second wave going. If you can help spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, sharing at your offices, whatever, we would really appreciate it. I would like to keep the energy high as long as possible. I believe with everyone helping spread the word we can make this scholarship a reality sooner rather than later.

So, tell a friend, and please consider giving if you have not already! Thanks!

Is there a way to get updates on the gifts that are mailed in or done without online check/debit card?

I'll check and see if we can get that info- the Foundation told us when we were setting it all up that those usually take a little while longer to process- so we'll see what we can come up with!

I have been able to provide regular updates on credit and debit card gifts since I can pull those reports through the online giving system itself. I will be able to provide an update on totals that include non credit/debit card gifts next week.

December is an extremely busy time for our gift processing department due to end-of-year donations for tax purposes, so we appreciate your patience with receiving that information.

I apologize, I didn't mean to sound greedy. Just curious. More excited to think that the total could be higher.

I couldn't be more impressed with how quickly this took off and how efficient all of the people involved have been. Its been great getting the daily updates. Ive been following this since day one and it really does make me proud to be an Aggie and I am extremely grateful to be associated with such fine people.

I don't think y'all are being greedy at all! I think you are excited about the progress being made, and we are proud that so many Aggies are willing to generously give to remember Joey V.

It's almost Friday! As of 11am today we were at $11,300 in online donations in JUST A WEEK! The power of the Aggie Spirit is amazing to see in action and thank you to all that have helped out thus far. Let's make a big push to the end out the week and make this a reality! We'll keep the updates coming as quickly as we can.

Look for an official press release soon- we're working with local media folks to try and spread the word even more effectively. In the meantime, be sure to continue to share with all of your friends and if you haven't yet, please consider giving to honor an amazing young man!

Hate to see this good cause slowing to a crawl. Nearly 20,000 visitors to this site and barely over 100 folks have given! That is less than 1%. Please give!

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I've had a busy day at the office and blackhills is out of town with little service- let's keep up the efforts! We can make this happen by Christmas!
