Is there any way to track the total? Would be nice to see an update every so often. If not, nbd.

The Foundation said it won't be trackable on a daily basis just b/c some of the processing takes time on their end, but they will be able to provide updates every so often (probably once a week-ish I'm thinking) They update family members of those that people donate to on a monthly basis about the # of contributions and dollar amounts, etc. I'll update as frequently as i can.

akaggie, we're waiting to have a full discussion with his family about how they would like to see this done. We want to respectfully address that issue without offending the Villavisencios or Joeys memory. We'll update once details have been outlined with his parents.

My name is Christine Villavisencio; I am Joseph's mom. I so extremely touched at not only the want to do something, but actually doing it. Our greatest fear is that Joseph will slip from memory, and this scholarship fund will not only keep his name alive, but will help other young people get their degree. Something that Joseph strove for but wasn't realized. He is smiling in heaven. Thank you so much! We are truly touched beyond words.

But seriously, how cool is it that this thread and grassroots project has gained so much traction in so little time? What sold me on going to A&M in the first place was two Ags who were a big part of my life in high school and helped support me through their church, and even gave me my first job. So I'm not surprised this happened, because this is what Aggies do. I'm a little surprised it happened so quickly!

Anyway, Bath Salts has been keeping his end of the bargain by working out all the Foundation stuff. Now I guess I gotta keep my end of the bargain. TexAgs is great for this, but it's time to go global.

I just set up a Twitter account and Facebook page to promote the fund we've set up. Tomorrow, once I get everything linked and synched, I'll post links, a twitter ID, and the coinciding hashtag. I'll keep the content updated, but it's up to you to make it go viral!

Finally, I just had a quick conversation with Christine V., and tomorrow afternoon she and I will begin working on an extended bio about Joseph. She expressed her thanks to all of us. I let her know this is what the Aggie Network is all about!

So, look for the social media links tomorrow, then spread the word! Gig 'em!

Mrs. Villavisencio, even after the time that has passed, I can't express my sorrow for your loss. Thank you for your support, we love our fellow Ags and will never forget your son.
