An uplifting thread and potentially a wonderful gesture my many which with scholarship funds could help unattainable dreams for some aspiring students become reality. "Big Joe" or "Joey V" as he was affectionately known would be remembered by future generations and never forgotten for his Aggie legacy. Many of us have connections and still grieve which is a testament to the life he led. I will be glad to contact his family, my son was his roommate for 3 years, and I will assist with any campaign. My wife, both sons are current students and I are all Aggies. We miss him dearly and I think if this develops it would greatly please The Villavicencio's that Aggie's would come together remembering him by helping others. After all that was to me Joe's desire in life to make a positive contribution to the world. God Bless.

Bath Salts- Emailed you my contact information. I think an important desire for Joe's family is that he is not forgotten. The amount is not so important, but the gesture is monumental. For example, offer a $1,000 or more one time scholarship annually, which could help a struggling Aggie's goal of a TAMU degree become reality. The family could have important input into the specificity of the scholarship trust structure, award amount and student interview process etc...TAMU would of course be a partner in the process.

I would love to give to this effort.

Joey's mother (I think it is his mother...definitely a relative) posted on his facebook wall about getting a call about an hour ago about this. She seemed very happy about it. Great job, TexAgs!

Alois, once we've gotten the family blessing well go the paperwork with the Foundation that will allow individuals to donate through the foundation website. We'll be sure to keep everyone updated on it and provide all necessary info when the time comes.
