Indiana and Duke winning conference championships means we're due soon... right? Right?

Indiana and Duke winning conference championships in FOOTBALL means we've truly entered upside-down world...

You could fill the CFPC with all women, and the rankings would make more logical sense.

Duke never trailed Virginia and came up with an interception on their first defensive play of overtime to win their 1st outright ACC title since 1962. As a result, Duke became the second 5-loss Power 4 team to win a conference championship and the first since 2012 Wisconsin, who represented the Big 10 Leaders Division because Ohio State and Penn State ineligible for conference championship game and post-season bowl games due to NCAA sanctions. Consequently, the entire ACC might get shutout of the playoffs.

Bama should've never been in the SEC championship. That's the root of the problem. Bama had 2 losses…case closed. It should have been A&M or Ole Miss who only have 1 loss. Now there's going to be this stupid argument about whether Alabama's third loss should matter

Who do you leave out

Bama: punishing them for playing extra game. This move kill the sec conference championship

Miami: H2H means nothing to committee and why would any team risk playing a good non conference team going forward. Obviously has no meaning

ND: in the media mind you would be denying gods gift to college football. Will send a msg to ND. Join a conference or get out.

It's probably why they should have had bama on the outside looking in prior to this week.

This is just not true. For every t.u. loss to OhSt, you not only have Bama losing to a bad FSU team, you have a school with 10 wins (BYU) who's non-con schedule was Portland State, Stanford, and ECU. BYU is likely not going to be given serious consideration. Same is true for Vandy: Utah State, Georgia Southern, VTech, and Charleston Southern. I guess replacing one of the "Southerns" with Northern Illinois would get them considered.

Is Herbie saying had BYU scheduled Rice instead of Stanford, they'd be in?

Indiana also missed a FG. So...

So a real playoff then.
With no bias and no maneuvering.

Fine.

yup. And if A&M didn't choke, it would have been easy. But, as it turned out, winning a bunch of football games against schools stacked with talent is really hard

Today's winner for the General Board Burrito Lottery is:

Bama had 2 losses in the season, yes, but the FSU loss wasn't in conference, so had nothing to do with them getting in the champ game.

Now they have to put Miami in. No way they'll leave the ACC out entirely

Bumping ND would be justice for 2020.

Once again, ND didn't take our spot that year, OSU did.
ND was 10-1, we were 8-1, and OSU was 6-0. Out of those 3, which 2 do you go with, just based on record?

It would if the conference wanted it that way.

Get rid of the conference championships. Put 13 games on the schedule. Expand to 16 teams. Play first 2 rounds before Christmas, next 2 rounds after New Year's. Profit.

Could you imagine a 7-5 A&M winning the SEC

Does a 7-5 SEC conf champ mean there are more good teams, or no good teams?

I'll await your clarification.

With Duke winning and Bama getting beat down, I'm all confused who we will play.

Duke doesn't get a spot.
Bama stays at 9 so they are not punished
BYU falls to 16
Miami moves up to 11
Now due to head to head against ND..ND to 11 and Miami to 10

We play Miami

Re-ranking ND vs Miami is silly when they don't even play this week.

If they thought Miami was better they should have had them ahead of ND in previous weeks.

And you called my prediction silly....
