I'm always pissed when we lose, but, we have won 11 games only 5 times in our history and that includes this year. I'm very grateful for this season. Even if we lost to Ohio State in the quarters y'all would be moaning and disappointed. This is only a sign of things to come. I can't wait for next year. Gig em!

Look. I'm not whining. And I agree a lot of folks on here are whining and moaning too much. I said it was probably our best season in 30 years… but you can't deny we ended it with 2 incredible letdowns.

I completely disagree the sentiment would be the same with a loss to Ohio State in the quarters. You'd have gotten one signature super memorable win at Kyle Field against a great team.

If it's the total number of wins that matter, we should move conferences. Definitely felt just like any other 8-5 season. We literally beat no one except for the teams who were so bad they fired their coaches.

What happened this season felt worse than 8-5. Not scoring a TD in a home field playoff matchup is an absolute joke.

11-2 is faaaaaaaar from 8-5. Have you ever been thru an 8-5 season. Okay, then. Good grief.

If 11-2 is a good year, we can do that every year, just leave the SEC and play unranked programs.

I would prefer consistent 9-3 playing the best teams in the nation. That kind of program will get shots at going all the way, even if it's every few years.

Saying it's the same as an 8-4 season is an exaggeration, but not all 11-2 seasons are equal, and you have to be blind to pretend that ours indicates we're elite. We beat a good but unremarkable Notre Dame on a missed extra point, and then feasted on one of the weakest SEC schedules ever. When the competition grew more difficult, we immediately choked and validated everybody who said we were the product of a soft schedule.

We'll probably finish the bowl season ranked 12-14. Good, but not anything amazing.

Didn't beat a single team that made the playoffs and got bounced by a lower seed. 8-5

Except when you take into account 2 years ago we were so bad we paid a record amount of money to make Jimbo go away

Its disappointing that an even better season was there for the taking and we lost our final two which definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Had a Comeback for the ages to lock up a spot in the playoffs
Did not have a WTF loss
Found 2 absolute studs in the portal

Not all 11-2 are same as someone said earlier

11-2 is a step forward for the program because it shows that the Ags won the games they were supposed to.

However, the two losses show that when it mattered, A&M lost. To a rival then a home playoff game.

So, yes, it "feels" like a disappointing season. And in many ways, it is. But, it also shows a step forward for the program.

Next year, I don't expect as good as record, but we need to see The Ags being able to win a few of the big time matchups.

I honestly don't know if it is much of a step forward. Dump 3 of our scrubs and replace them with 3 of the good ones (so we have 4 scrub SEC games and 4 tough ones). Based on what I saw against Texas and Miami, I think we would have finished 8-4 or 9-3 against that schedule. Not bad but totally unremarkable.

there is great value in beating the teams you're supposed to beat

go back to some of Jimbo's teams (2021) and Sumlin's teams (2015, 2016) -- that had equal talent to Elko's 2025 squad -- but could not avoid the upset losses to Mississippi State or Auburn or Ole Miss or Arkansas

such that a possible 10-win season for Jimbo or Sumlin turned into 8-4

let's go back to the 2012 season

the Ags went 2-2 vs. the 4 great teams they played: Florida, LSU, Alabama, and OU

and took care of business vs. Mississippi State (8-5), Ole Miss (7-6), and Missouri (5-7)

that's the key -- beat the 8-4 / 7-5 / 6-6 teams -- and you'll probably have a great year in the SEC

Disappointed for not winning it all sure, but OSU is the defending champ, one of the favorites to win it again, winning a playoff game validates making the playoffs, and A&M has only won 12 games once in its history (a disrespected 12-1 team that was deemed No. 7 in the AP in '92). Apart from '39 it would have arguably been A&M's finest season ever.

Losing to Miami vs. Ohio State is night and day. Still an incredible season and should finish in the Top 10 in the AP.

Now I see why I stick to the premium board the most

Last year we lose the ND game, we don't win on the road 3 games in a row, we lose that SC game. As much as it sucks, we progressed from year one. Thats what an actual big picture fan is thinking. it's 2 steps forward 1 step back, still need to beat Texas and win the game that keeps us from the SEC championship. Thats how you have to look at it, any other way, and you really wouldn't be satisfied unless it's a natty right now.

Near our talent level? Per 247 A&M went 9-2 vs top 25 talent rosters. If you want to limit it to top 15 A&M went 4-2. Don't let people fool you into thinking LSU, Florida , etc aren't talented.
