Interesting. I choose to interpret that as "our new manager will get to call the shots on how we develop our youth programs."

That's how I took it. Poor word choice.

But given USSF's track record, it probably means it's just a giant dumpster fire at this point.

I imagine Ernie Stewart and the new coach will be making those hires.

I hope you guys are right, too

But it sure seems like we could make interim hires or do something to not stretch the youth coaches this thin

Here is a good article from US Soccer that outlines all the summer moves of the USMNT players:

Looked like an ACL to me.

In other news, McKennie scored today.

And the Gooch had a pretty solid assist.

I stumbled across this article about USMNT players overseas. Nice little summary of where a few of our players are.

Any news on Yedlin's injury?

I haven't been able to find anything about his knee.

But I did read up a bit on the situation. Yedlin seemed to turn a corner last season, but was struggling in the opener before he hurt his knee. Apparently fans like Yedlin, but wanted depth at the position in case he struggled again. The owner didnt want to spend the money, so they're left thin in the back (highlighted by Yedlin's injury now). In the meantime, he's spent about 110 million buying a clothes chain out of London. So needless to say, the fans aren't happy with the whole situation now.

Seems like the typical luck. US player actually finds himself on a top division team where for whatever reason they aren't actively trying to replace him so hes definitely gonna play, but he gets hurt.

Good read, thanks for sharing. Seems like Germany has become even more of the league to keep an eye on these days.

Yep. It seems they're willing to give the young guys a chance.

It's one of the more important revenue streams for the non-Bayern Munchen clubs - develop younger players and sell them to bigger clubs.

On the opposite end of the age spectrum, it looks like Stoke is looking to move Cameron out.

Fortunately for Geoff, you can't "come back" to a place you've never been. He is a former Dynamo.

Isn't it pretty standard for teams to try to sell of their more expensive/elder players when they drop out of the premier league?

Is this a good or bad thing?

Good because the academies are getting prospects ready for top academies. Bad because MLS still isnt giving young guns playing time. Wonder what the success rate will be for these guys. Wish them the best.

It's good for them and good for the future of the USMNT.

I also saw where Claudio Reyna's son is joining Dortmund in November when he turns 16.
