Good summary. As the only Leipzig fan on this board (and perhaps this continent), I'll chime in with a few more notes:
1) Youngest team in the Bundesliga. Average starting 11 is 23.3.
2) Youngest coach in the Bundesliga, Julian Nagelsmann, 32, who took over this summer. He had been at Hoffenheim prior, he was contracted to be hired before the 2018-19 season but Hoffenheim refused to release him. So last year Leipzig was managed by the sporting director in an interim role.
3) I was concerned a bit at first this season. Nagelsmann kept trying to switch the tactics to a 3-4-3 and it wasn't working out. Thankfully he wasn't stubborn and gave up on this notion. They've been in great form since then (the loss to Lyon was using this crappy back 3).
4) Have been dealing with injury woes at CB for two months. Team captain Orban is out till Winter break. Konate is one of a pair of physically imposing young French CBs we have and he was injured early in Oct. So we've been using a veteran backup DM Ilsanker as the other CB and he's been effective but we're not nearly as stout defensively as we were last season (least league goals conceded). We've had a lucky stretch of playing mid-bottom Bundesliga clubs so we haven't conceded much there, but the Champions League matches exposed the defensive woes. We were also missing our starting keeper for a few matches the past month.
4) Our offensive form on the other hand has been top-notch since November. We're averaging 3.28 in all competitions in this stretch... and that's after I exclude the 8 goal outlier vs Mainz.
5) Speaking of the Mainz game, it highlights what has been an outstanding season for Timo Werner. He notched a hat trick in both goals and assists that game and currently is 2nd in the Bundesliga with 16 goals in 15 matches (6 goals in CL).
