Jose made some comments about this crowded week, and resting players at positions that have depth. Today should have been an easier win, so I think he gave some first-choice players a rest. I assume he'll be playing a slightly different squad at Leipzig, and then the best, healthiest squad possibly for Chelsea.

I disagreed with both calls that went against Chelsea today, and I was going for ManU.

I dont think they had a definitive look at the 2nd. They were measuring their feet.

1st one was really bad.

Fred clearly shoved first. I mean just awful calls.

I fully expect us to get screwed next game against them as a makeup call.

Giroud was 100% offsides. The Maguire no red card and first disallowed goal were bad. I'm a United fan though so **** Chelsea I'm happy they got screwed

They definitely showed at halftime that he was struggling with his arm and received treatment before leaving the pitch. When he came back on in the 2nd I assumed he was fine, but guess he just powered through with the fractured arm. This sucks.

Yeah odd he obviously played with it.

I guess it's the surgery part that is causing him to be out because otherwise don't you just slap a cast on it and play with a broken arm? And what about a break necessitates surgery? Would have to be like ligament damage too maybe.....but I would think that a break that bad would have been obvious and caused him not to play on that day. So weird.

Dele isn't a pure striker and alone I think that's a mistake in a traditional striker role.

You are not going to see the 18 year old Tony Parrot as a striker to carry us.... Jose has said he isn't ready for that despite signs of brilliance.




Some talk of a 2 person striker lineup with Lucas and Bergwijn. their speed would be a great countering threat and that keeps Dele as a midfield attacking role.

This is the one I prefer.






but you could also see this kind of lineup in what is called a False Nine - the attacking forward is a decoy really where they drop into a midfield position more often and serve the wingers - again Bergwijn and Lucas.




I'd expect one of those tactics or a mix of those.


The other options are either Lucas or Bergwijn in the attacking striker role and Alli in midfield with some combo of Lucas-R/Bergwijn-L (whichever is not the striker) and Sessegnon-L or Fernandes-R.

Leipzig fan here. Son's injury sucks.

If it's any consolation for today, Leipzig won't have Tyler Adams or Dayot Upamecano (best defender). Several other key guys out but they've been out so long we've certainly learned how to play without them.

Thank goodness Dier isn't out there to turn it over. Gedson has to be careful....if we can keep our chin clean early in the 2nd half we can hopefully wear em out and get a late goal...keeping it zero is the most important thing
