This team still isn't very good by US standards, Rapinhoe, Morgan, Lloyd are shells of their former selves, Lovell,hasn't broken out like everyone expected etc but they found a way.
And nine offsides goals called back now. That almost isn't even possible. It's gotta be like 4 standard deviations from the mean. Just indicative of the problems with the team though.

That may be true, but I'd say we can all reasonably expect this team to make the gold medal game. After tying Australia without really trying to beat them and edging out Netherlands, I'm not worried about Canada. Australia and Netherlands are both stronger teams.

We should see a US vs Sweden rematch for the gold. Very interesting to see how we respond after getting punched in the mouth.

Reminds me of the Frech 4X100M Relay team before the finals at the Beijing Olympics saying they'll smash the Americans. Still one of the most unbelievable moments in Olympics to watch Lezak's comeback and out touching the French at the wall.

Absolutely not. Naeher has done very well but she is still way shakier than Solo or Scurry and has less to do because the current back line lay their bodies on the line every shot to keep Naeher from even having to make saves. Two of the three PK saves today were horribly taken by the Dutch.

Again, she's done way better than I expected when she was named the starter but I still wouldn't put her close to Solo.
