Does Pool beg Klopp to comeback? This team is cooked. No way they can buy anyone in January and they're stuck with Mo(I love the guy but it was a season too long).

Whoa, let's not be hasty. If return of Klopp is actually possible, I say give Arne more time to re-kindle the magic of last year! Unless the real alternative is to give the job to Stevie G., then go ahead, be ruthless, let's get Anfield's favorite non-league winning player into the manager job right now.

Just one completely unbiased opinion from an outside observer…

I still have an illogical theory that the Isak signing is to blame… or rather, the administrative dumbassery that led to such a signing is to blame.

Taking off the tin-foil hat, it kinda feels like bad luck. The club tries to do the right thing and keep old players like Mo and VVD (no one is calling him out so much yet but as a neutral, I will). Realistically, you know players over 30 could start declining at any time, sometimes rapidly… it seems like the decline is in full force. Keepers last longer, but Allison's absence has also been huge.

Or maybe it's a combo of both. Regardless, as an outsider it seems like it's a perfect storm of bad, and not really Slot's fault, per se… but maybe he's not the right manager to adapt to the perfect storm.

I said well before he was signed that it was a needlessly high risk move in the short/medium term that seemed to make little sense. It might still work out in the long term. They made the assessment that they needed two strikers which is fine. But committing 120m to a player who has sat out an entire pre-season and who occupies the exact same space/has a very similar profile as the 80m player you JUST SIGNED who's 23 and started the season well (3 G 1 A in the league in his first 5 starts) is just poor capital allocation and with a high likelihood of pain. They created a problem where there wasn't one.

They're like a blackjack player who played perfect strategy and slowly 10xed their monehy. Then started to double down YOLO when the dealer was showing face cards and aces.

Yeah and besides the tactical reasons it didn't make sense, it was also a massive risk of creating locker room drama.

Both moves, but especially Isak didn't fit the culture they created under Klopp. With the exception of VVD, their bread and butter was the very-good-but-not-yet-elite signings in the 30-50 range. They had a culture of players trying hard to prove themselves. You sign a guy for 3-4 times that and you're gonna get a player who's got an entirely different attitude.

Did Mohammad Salah turn into Cristiano Ronaldo? Probably at least a little truth to what he says but blowing up your coach and the club you claim to love because you didn't start 3 games is some elite whiny behavior. He's basically whining because he's been **** but so have all of his teammates and he's Mo Salah so he should keep his place.

I'm disappointed. But then that's my fault for actually having some affinity for a Liverpool player. Should have known better.
