100% unnecessary move. Plus you take that 130-140m and get 2 or 3 really solid squad players.
I don't know where the push came from (coach or board) but Liverpool definitely pushed hard for him. Isak benefitted from great winger service at Newcastle and doesn't get the same type of service from wingers at Liverpool. In addition his groin injury seems to be lingering. I for one don't mind one bit of swing him struggle.

Yeah I wasn't necessarily bagging on Isak and calling him a flop… way too early for that. But this whole deal just seemed like such a departure from the way LFC has conducted business in the Klopp era, so it made me wonder if it was a Slot thing.
As an EPL neutral who enjoys watching LFC from time to time (in part because they've got players I enjoyed watching at Leipzig), as the price kept going higher and Isak's attitude towards NUFC kept getting more hostile, I kept hoping that someone would wise-up and cancel the move. Maybe it'll prove to be great, but it seemed like a big risk - not only in terms of whether he produces on the field, but more so in terms of how it would impact the culture in the locker room.

The pressure of the price tag is so incredibly toxic.
