I've never seen another country make the winners wear ceremonial garb. Japan didn't make them wear kimonos in 2002.

The Messi-Ronaldo debate should never happen again. Messi has shut that debate down forever. Messi vs. Pele, Maradona, others is still open, though I would pick Messi as greatest ever. But all the Real Madrid Messi haters need to stop. Messi is better than Ronaldo, this WC just puts the last nail in the coffin.

I know this, I will not miss another PSG game this year. I just got FuboTV and get Ligue 1. Having those two on the same team, not to mention Neymar, won't last long.

As amazing as Mbappe, Messi and Neymar are, it gets old watching them play nobodies in Ligue 1. It's all about Champions League. I think Mbappe is going to lead them to the promised land.

This also cements Messi as being better than Maradona.

For the national team, both now have a WC trophy, but only Messi has a Copa America trophy. And obviously, Messi blows away Maradona at the club level.

I work in the ME (not Qatar) and the guys here were explaining to me it's a special robe/dress/garment thing worn by the Emir. The stitching is apparently made from pure gold - so lotta money on that thing.

I think Pele will always have to be graded a little differently since he didn't play club ball in Europe. Takes away a lot of the basis for comparison.
